An interesting idea for the sequel IMO, would be that Bugsnax, while parasitic and dangerous if taken in high doses, are not necessarily evil or aggressive by nature and during the final missions of the game are actually reacting to a frequency only they can hear, sort of like the underwater base area in Star Wars KOTOR where you have to fight the crazed Selkath? That would explain why Sprout didn't attack the player or any of their friends, the ball he's kept in blocked the frequency out. That might fly in the face of the addiction narrative to some degree I guess, but it could explain how Eggabell and Lizbert managed to survive on the island after everybody else left. Eventually the frequencies stopped and the bugsnax became calm again, so they stuck to eating just sauces and eventually the effects of the bugsnax wore off. Maybe Snaktooth island was just a test?

Wait, so do the sidequests contribute in any way to the cutscene on the beach with Filbo? Or are they just for improving dialogue between the characters fighting off Bugsnax? This game was much more than a kiddie game. Adult themes going on underneath the cutesy aesthetic. The aesthetic was nauseating at times for me but I plowed thru. I ultimately didn't like where this ended up because it was just silly with what happened to Lizbert. Glad I turned my brain off and only slightly tried to figure out what happened to Lizbert. At one point I thought Eggabell killed her then thought, that would be WAY too dark but at the same time, again, things were adult themed in the game, anyway, and were a lil dark already with the Grumpus skeletons and death themes. Oh. My. God. How did it suddenly turn into a horror game at the very end? And also, if you pay close enough attention you see a bugsnak waddling off the boat onto the shore, during the last couple of seconds of the video. There is obviously going to be some sort of sequel to this, and it is not going to be anywhere near as wholesome as this game pretended to be.

Good ending: You and all your friends get back home ( Do the sidequests and do good at the finale ) Bad ending: You and Filbo, Floofty, Chandlo, Cromdo, Wiggle and Wambus survive and get back home ( Do the sidequests and do bad at the finale) Very bad ending: You and everyone become bugsnax/dissapear/get addicted to bugsnax ( Don't do the sidequests ) ( In bad ending you can somehow save other people but its harder and i dosen't change the ending that much )
