I grew up in Buicks! 1955 Super's were my favorite!

Lord cars were beautiful back then compared to the styles today. With so many design features. Strong, durable and power for the roads of the day

but modern cars can dust that car on the road for a fraction of gas consumption, while also being quieter, cleaner, smoother, and longer lasting on average.

@@NaNa-kj2gw the only real improvement was the fuel injection. The oil wouldn’t be thinned out from the carburetor gas vapor so they lasted 1000s more miles. Back in the day when gas was $.25 a gallon who cared about consumption.. me and my Dodge Charger dusted everything on the road. It could really pick’em up and put’em down faster than you could say, Jack Robinson..

@@NaNa-kj2gw yeah, could be a little cheaper to run as long as you could pay the mechanic 30 times a month for all the breakdowns these cars have! oh my gosh what has America’s horseless chariot come to?

BWAHAHAHA the last one is sexiest as all get out! I sell Buicks in East Tennessee at Chaparral Buick GMC. My dad was a Buick dealer in the 1980s. I love these cars so much!

Great cars 24000 miles and they were done.

Very few Buicks were done at 24k miles. In fact, the first car that ever went past 100k miles was a 1910 Buick 10. The first car to hit half a million miles was a 1932 Buick Straight 8 OHV. The first documented million mile V8 engine was a Rover equipped with the Buick Aluminum V8. Buick had a reputation for being the best car you could buy that wasn't a Cadillac, and it had that reputation for a reason.

I am willing to concede that modern cars are superior in their engineering and in particular safety. But that's pretty much where it ends. I can't remember the last time I saw a new car and thought it had any style to it.
@DH-jt1bw2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think they’re a lot safer change the headrest on the older car and that’s about all you have better for safety. These cars were like tanks somebody hit you, these cars are not a tin box cracker like the cars out today..plus have you driven an Acadia lately those motors are trash but, I would probably concede that the gas mileage if you can keep it running is a bit better. this old car back in those days only set your back $1000 compared to 40 K for trash these days. I don’t think so sonny boy. Yeah Got to get up before breakfast and do your reengineering all over again to beat the cars of yesteryear..
