I’ve been watching all of your vids because I’m literally in the process of removing my old motor and installing the new built motor. I’m hoping the old motor is ready to pull by tomorrow. We’ll see. Thanks for the videos!!

The cam sensors he shows are extreme in price. Later less expensive versions are readily available. The 87 cam sensor port is at the top of the chain cover. He had to modify this port due to the double row chain. Now he tries a much earlier OEM sensor that runs off the distributor gear....an inferior setup. Best to use a quality steel chain, & iron gear along with the stock tensioner. The stock gear can be easily modified for +/- 6 degree advance/retard cam timing

Question the cam gear is supposed to be at 6oclock and crank at 12 oclock two dot pointing at each other at TDC right? Some guy said it doesn't matter if they are both pointing at 12oclock is this true?

Hi nice ride what size are tires on back

Nice..my build is nearly identical... couple things i would consider,, from SteveWood ,Bison,EricM..and many others ..the stock,OEM types of MAF sensors are notoriously inaccurate..and at times,problematic. The absolute best item i bought ,(close with Razors alky) was a really good converter. I chose the 17blade PTC spect by Dusty. Slip is around 5%. Put my junk in the mid 10's. Dave H has one that's close for less$.

I’d like to try a 9.5 one day but right now I’m pushing the 10”. I know it’s good for 10’s so we’ll make that happen soon. My MAF was great up until the other day actually. This new combo is beastly and I think it is time to upgrade to Translator and LT1
@brianmathew092 жыл бұрын
@@J-Finelli231 Sorry, i did forget to add,9.5 non-lock. It's been a while,but 99% sure its an LS1 3.5" MAF. I still remember how big my smile was when i finally got a good run at 28 Lbs. ,,as you said "beastly".
@J-Finelli2312 жыл бұрын
@@brianmathew09 I’m very familiar with all that stuff. I know the 9.5 is NLU and I’m not in a position to switch the trans to NLU and spend for the 9.5 right now. The Maf’s are 3” LT1 and 3.5LS1. The 3” will suit my program. I may have a video about that in the future if I throw the code 34 again

Hey Justin, we just finished my car and I’m having the exact same issue you had with the passenger side valve cover sitting on the heater box. Can you share with me where you sourced your trans mount from? I’m hoping this can help because valve cover is definitely up against that heater box. Thank you sir!
@J-Finelli2312 жыл бұрын
It’s a Energy Suspension SBC mount. Someone makes a 2004r adapter piece for it but I got it years ago so don’t remember who. Try Full Throttle Speed in MI. Before anything I just unbolted trans mount and jacked it up. It pulled the valve cover away from the box so I knew I was good. You could even shim the mount with 1/4 of washers should do the trick

@@J-Finelli231 you the man. Thank you sir! When I finish everything up I’ll be sure to post up a vid on here. Have a good night!
