Original wheels!!! My first car. Senior year. My dad came home with it, said here's your car. No one gave me GN lessons... it was fast in REVERSE. Squawk the tires first 3 gears every time.. I went thru a pair of eagle GTs in 2 months.. first day I drove it to school, I was pulled over by a trooper. He took one look at me n said "girl like you got no business with a car line this" i cried. Long story short, i raced fox bodies and new bodies gt500s, corvettes, Camaros firebirds and supras. GN wins every time. donuts? Easy. Dirt roads weren't for amateurs.. this car would lose it in the ass end EASY if you didn't nudge her just right. Fukin 6 cylinder turbo AUTOMATIC 🙌 sigh. .. rockstar games .

Nice GN. Used to race them frequently in the late 80’s early 90’s. My LX 5.0 was running 11.7et @ 124mph in ‘94. So the 11.6 GN would have got me in the 1320 but I had nearly 10mph over him. I was running street trim, hoosier dirt bozz tires, VR4 at 12lbs and a little juice in 3rd. 3.55 gears. Miss the late 80’s and 90’s. Every night going to work it seemed there was a race from light to light against Vettes, GN’s, Formulas, TTA’s, Iroc’s and other stangs.

Dumbass, that GN is expensive as hell and to get it to run mid 11's is not that cheap...considering parts do break. The Tesla ain't cheap, but it also drives by itself in traffic, long trips, etc. not just run fast in a race.

Still couldn't believe it when those GN grandma cruiser looking cars beat me. Now, they're def. too expensive for reliable one.

I'm an old school Buick guy. Prefer the V8 Buicks on a bottle but sadly sold every thing I had and kept this turbo car :( So I haven't been a fan of using spray to spool the turbo as a local knot head here was trying it and he made Buicks look awful. Seems like ya'll got it together and I'm curious of how you are doing it, set up, etc. ? I'm also subscribed and been curious about the whole youtube thing. Getting subscribers, views, etc. It's just a hobby for me. Not selling anything. Most of my videos have been for insurance purposes of personal and family vehicles but I do have some Buick stuff out there. Pretty simple set up. Single fogger wet system on the up pipe. Basically an NOS powershot system using a fogger with 75 hp. jets. Activated on a button then released once the boost comes up. Most guys launch at high boost using their brakes or transbrake but this car is the most stock one of my friends 3 GN's so we decided to use spray instead of the Vacuum brakes that don't hold at all. BTW it's Fort Lauderdale, about an hour from Miami.

So if you wanted to make it fair…a GN with the same v6 making a 1000+hp just like the Tesla…the Tesla wouldn’t have a chance. That 130k you’d have to spend to get a Model S would be a waist. @@turbo6uickracingchannel still wouldn't hold a.chance the the 1000hp hell cat has a 1000hp still 2.7.60 it's hard to beat a car that doesn't need a transmission, I'd agree the gn was fast and the gnx was lighting fast for the time, but I was only pointing out the model 3 today would smoke a stock GN they do 3.5 0-60 vs like 5.7 and the model 3 is within the cost of a new truck,.again I've been in a couple GN I know what they can do

@@jamesmcfarland2636 see you can’t compare a 35 year old cars 0-60 times to cars of today…the technology is 10x more advanced…especially in a Tesla. Unless you make it fair and give the old GN the same power you can’t compare stock vs stock that simple. There are plenty of GN’s that make less then 1000hp and are 8 second cars at over 150 mph. Shit…a Buick guy that goes by the name “Silver Bullet” has a Buick that makes 850hp and runs 8.80@155. So yes a Buick with a 1000hp would easily beat a Plaid…these aren’t Hellcats or Demons…not even close to those boats. The video is on KZbin of his run if you need to see it.

M We have 3 Buick’s that we race...this was the slowest out of the 3 running mid 11’s leaving at no boost with vacuum breaks. This car is very very stock and I’m happy with what the car has ran for the little that is done to it...and we’re not really pushing this thing. As for the other 2 cars...well I’ll just say one can run low 10’s and the other one can run low 9’s. That Tesla is lucky he didn’t run into one of the other cars buddy.

That model 3 didn’t have the upgraded boost , now they average 11.4 in quarter mile with just over the air updates. That’s amazing. Love the Buick, had one for a week in 1985 ( grand national ) when I was an intern at Gm in Detroit Michigan. It always left a smile on my face. Wish I could own one. Great video.

We actually have a few 1000hp+ Buick’s that would make a Tesla owner want to go back to the dealership and return their car and get their $130k back…you know a Buick that would actually be a fair race for a Plaid instead of this stock ass one you saw in the video.
