On a gm rear hub the top left and bottom right or just the opposite part of the hub right in the corner just on the outside edge of bolt hole there is a slot for a chisel to drive in opposite corners to free the hub. No need to beat on it until the breaks and dust shield fall off

Well i prefer to use them jerkoff because unlike jackstands i do not have to worry about them tipping. Especially with kids in the neighborhood. Besides i have a gravel driveway which is uneven.

As long 2×6 is used to cushion the cinder block they pretty safe.
