Very interesting tutorial, but my question is, how do you then USE this custom character you have made? As far as I can tell at the end you just have an object made from a bunch of tilemaps. That's fine if you just need something to be a still image, but what if you wanted to use it as an animated sprite or something?

Most likely you will need to take the indexed numbers for the type of sprites you wanted for your character and put them in animations for your character. You can make an autoload that contains the players character and you can set animations based on what the autoload says.

Okay, but what if you also want different body types? And do we then put the Customizer node in our game's root node?

Can you make a tutorial about equipments? Like a sword or helmet, if equipped, the skin will insert in your character. Also, how to make something random? Like the chest drops are random. And how to make a script for the sword like how much damage it does?

shouldn't it have been >4 or >=5 ? instead of >= 4?

The set cell calls no longer work in godot 4. Apparently you need to specify the atlas coordinates of the tile you want to switch to.
