Quick question on cross over push ups, my OCD wouldnt allow me to do this without switching sides to also do the other arm in the band. Then essentially do 10 left arm band rest 10 right arm band repeat for 40 total back and forth twice. Redundant or "what ever feels right, do it" kind of thing?

Who wouldn't? I saw 1st Blood back in '83 when I was 9 years old, and from that moment I knew I wanted to lift weights. At 15 my dad bought me a home York set, at 16 I joined a gym, at 17 I was bouncing a pub door at the weekends, and at 19 I qualified as a trainer and sports therapist, and made a long career for myself. Sly literally sowed the seed for my entire life path, and I'm now in my 32nd year of lifting. To have your inspiration, be inspired by you? That would feel remarkable.

Are you saved? If not, "REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL." THE GOSPEL (which means the Good News) is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 20:28-29 KJV And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell? Acts 16:30-31 KJV ...what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 1 John 1:8-10 KJV If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Luke 24:47 KJV And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2XckIl_f5eNmK8

Here’s the thing. kzbin.infoUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. A fully extended reverse fly is avoid as far as you should stretch these. If it’s too easy, use more than one band at a time.Not rocket science.
@akashmakkar7187
@akashmakkar7187 8 ай бұрын
The bands Jeff is using are 41 inches in length, and then if you triple them, that's 123 inches, and remember, they loop, so overall circumference will be around 20 feet. If someone is 6 feet tall, hands pressed up would make them slightly over 7 feet tall, add in 2 feet gap in between the feet and the hands, and that becomes 7+7+2+2 = 18 feet. Still under 20 feet max 3x stretch of the band.

Thank you for the videos on how to properly use the bands, I’ve been watching your series for years and they have been absolutely instrumental in helping me not only get back into shape but get into better shape than ever before. I’ve struggled for years with finding a routine that was both effective and actually made feel the burn properly afterwards. I also have issues with my shoulders, years of accumulated injury’s to both of my shoulders from working with heavy equipment on the job and bad form and techniques have taken a toll on them. I’m currently recovering from another shoulder injury that I suffered while at work, I’m close to fully recovering though and your resistance band series has proven extremely helpful. I’ve used bands in the past but after watching your series I didn’t realize how many ways you could apply them, they have turned into a new staple tool in my training regime. I travel for my job and I’m on the road almost 90% of the year, these bands and your videos have really saved my sanity. I’m going to be 45 this year and I can feel the years, the bands combined with my kettlebells have given me a lot of new opportunities to train effectively and not sacrifice any of my progress. Thank you for all you have done and please continue with the videos, maybe if you get the chance you can put together a short series on kettlebells. That would be extremely helpful too. Thank you once again.

I’m 66 and agree wholeheartedly with this. I started 6 months ago using just bands after about a year of being out of my exercise routine (I retired, sold my home, moved across the country, and built a new home). It takes a little getting used to but I wish I had transitioned to bands 20 years ago.

@@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs Weights will always win out over bands. But cables (which are similar to bands in terms of ROM) are in many ways superior to weights. As with most things I think a combination is the best option. During lockdown I was exclusively using bands at home and put on lean muscle. Also bands are cheap and easy to take with you on holidays etc. So they have other benefits.

I'm already leaps and bounds beyond what I ever achieved in my younger years by a regimen of simply a few pushups and pullups (and 45 minutes of cardio) and beyond the beginner gains I can see so much more work I'd have to put in. It's just unfathomable to me where people like this take the time and willpower to go through all that work. I'm working out in the range of every other to two out of three days and an hour each and it's seriously taxing on my willpower to keep it up. I absolutely respect people who can do so much more. I just haven't the foggiest how they do it.

I'm using bands because my gym's still closed. Heavy bands can be tougher than weights! Try doubling up a 175 lb band and doing pushups--just regular pushups. Then, add a thinner band. As with weights, this can go on indefinitely to add resistance. I see a big improvement in mass and strength. Another thing--I'm using a 125LB band for 1 armed overhead presses. Good thing about the band is, although I can't get it to full extension, I can HOLD it for ten seconds at the point of failure. You can't do this with dumbbells. If you can't press it, you have to immediately bring it down. Right now, I'm using both bands and dumbbells-each compliment the other, Compared to the band, the 60lb dumbbells I have go up like a feather. That wasn't the case before. This might be the one good thing to come out of the WuFlu debacle. Sly's right!

Door handle might work. If you need it low, slipping the band under the door with a sturdy cylindrical item (like a dumbbell or a chair sitting back to back by the door with the band grabbing both of the chair's legs. Add heavy things on the seat to prevent the band from slipping under the chair) on the other side of the door to prevent the band from slipping back out. Keep the door closed. This depends how thick the band is, but chances are you should be able to slip them under. Or you can make your own anchor.
@GY9944
@GY9944 3 жыл бұрын
@@JustKaru_ good idea. I went with the stands of the bed - it’s thick and stocky so should be relatively sturdy. I think that should do it for the movements with low-anchored bands. Thanks for the advice though

@@GY9944 You might try outside, a tree perhaps. Be careful the tree (or whatever) surface is not too rough. The friction between the band and the surface will tear the rubber. It happened to me. So maybe use a towel (or something soft) the "mitigate'' the friction.
