A lot of people are making harsh comments. I’m guessing 99% of those people have never done anything like this themselves. Dude is doing this for the first time and letting us watch from the comfort of our homes. This shit looks hard af! And you make mistakes pretty much anytime you do something for the first time. At least he’s giving it a go. P.S. for those who say it’s not a dugout because it’s not completely underground…you’re thinking of a cave. This is absolutely a dugout.

Don't forget a shortwave radio and good invisible black wire antenna..... L.E.D light string running off of a solar generator, one guy even had a TV in his for watching the game although the game may not be sports here soon - that's a great shelter you built - when can you start mine ???? From what I understand moss or sod is pretty good insulation. Especially when you don’t have a DIY store nearby and have to do things like our ancestors did. And whatever is lacking in insulation is more than made up for in thermal mass. Those giant logs store and regulate heat incredibly well. Especially since they are covered with soil on the bottom half.
