I would love to do this DIY for my husband as a Christmas present, I had the same concept in my head, but seeing you build it made the thinking process easier. Thank you

I would recommend Haveing a double wall between the walls to them ( with some rubber pads at where the sealing and floors though the wall and put some ultratouch insulation r30 in between)
@christiansnipes662111 жыл бұрын
how much did it cost for the supplies? not including tools/recording equipment, just the foam, wood panels, and adhesive?
@strangekittyca7 жыл бұрын
Using velcro strips might be handy, instead of double-sided tape. This way you could change out the insulation later if you need to, or re-adjust.
@DerrickHair10 жыл бұрын
How much did all the supplies cost you? What size were the measurements of the booth. THank you, great video!
@TheVealChop10 жыл бұрын
Nice! That's badass! Small, but you can do varying versions of length and width for, say, a trumpet player. I did a similar thing to a walk-in closet with rugs.
@axel7611 жыл бұрын
Great video, good job. I noticed you covered the entire booth with pads, I thought it was important to leave a small reflection area like a small window or untreated spot to avoid drowning the sound. Do you think you need that?
@tf64210 жыл бұрын
nice. this gives me a blueprint to build my own. thanks for sharing this! appreciate it.

Would strongly recommend to build a bigger box around that bog with about 9" of distance to all sides for way better isolation of sounds from the outside getting in and other way around ( door included in that recommendation)

Well, how would you suggest ventilating? I don't necessarily think it matters since he's not going to stay in there. Only to record.
@BigTexTV100011 жыл бұрын
What if you don't have A door? would the sound still be alot better than recording in an open area? Because I have like A little closet its in A U shape I have bed foam all around it I got it from wal mart.

Yes, that does look fantastic. Where I am, the summers are extremely hot. Is it the same where you are, if so, how did you account for that?

With that wide angle lens recording, it looked like it was about to fall apart at any moment wish the bent walls haha Awesome job though on the build. I really like how you stapled the foam to the walls. Made it look like fancy upholstery :)
@CelsoMachadoJr11 жыл бұрын
i looks functional. I just wonder if the performance of the singer after sometime gets bad due to no ventilation. Still sounds as a good home studio solution also for guitar recording.

Hey man, love how you have put this together, very creative. But can you tell me, how loud are the vocals outside of the booth? I am looking to put one of these together and also plan to practice singing in it, mainly so not to piss off my neighbours. Would this work for helping to soundproof so I can sing inside my apartment? How much does it reduce sound on the outside?
@soyunapersonanormal9 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing your neighbours wouldn't really hear it since the inside panels absorb most of the sound

@D40Oz19 жыл бұрын
awesome video, i love making booths. but to me you didint do as much treatment on each wall.... very box muddy and to help with that is to buy rough bed sheets like the ones you see on hospital bed, put them over top of the foam you used and they absorb that nasty frequency around 300-600 just think about it, a soft fluffy material will absorb high frequencys and then a rough material will absorb the low freqs so put them together in ways you can , this is an old video but try it out if you havent!

total cost?
@morbjrn52657 жыл бұрын
Michelle Elizabeth About 300-400 USD. Excluding microphone, the stand, headphones, and lamp. Acoustic Insulation is very expensive. So is fiberboard depending on your location. Cheap alternatives are oriented strandboard instead of fiber board and denim Insulation/ Carpet padding instead of acoustic Insulation. All in all for my slip around the edges version of this project, it's going to be 152.64 USD including tax!
