I show how to make a gas tank for a motorized bicycle or any small engine. Enjoy!
Stay tuned for additional videos showing which motorized bicycle engine kit I purchased, how it was packaged, and if it was damaged in shipment. I'll also post a video(s) of how to install an engine kit on the bike.

I'm building one out of a baked bean can I opened one end with a safety can opener and dumped the beans in a large bowl . I used the lid off a can of two stroke still working on the petcock part

Yes! Thank you for the awesome video. Inspired a great idea. I ride a chopper currently. The typical tanks don't like the top tube. Behind the seat would be excellent.

I should try that. Add a garden hose to make a sprinkler if all else fails.

Drill the cap out larger put a gas pipe connector on use some gas line to run to a dirt bike carbon fume filter make it less likely for you to have a fire from gas fumes

My bike runs about 40+ mph hella fun ^^
@TXJasper
@TXJasper 5 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Mine goes about 30mph but it's the cheapest stock kit from China that I found on ebay. It's all stock except for the spark plug. I haven't ever reduced the oil and gas mixture from break in, but heard I could probably get a little more with a leaner oil gas mix. Anyway, they are a lot of fun! Thanks for commenting!

Where did you buy the gas cap and the bung from
@TXJasper
@TXJasper 3 жыл бұрын
Lowes or Home Depot. The "gas cap" is just galvanized cap in plumbing section. Cost around $3.

Wow thanks for quick reply and I’m guessing the petcock bung from online ?
@TXJasper
@TXJasper 3 жыл бұрын
@@jonnypiper5378 I honestly don't remember where I got the petcock bung. I don't think I purchased it online, but I might have. I would bring your petcock to Lowes/ Home Depot and see if they have anything that works. You could just use a regular nut with the same thread and solder (or even use JB Weld) it to the tank. Best of luck!

Hi Cory. Thanks! LOL! Coffee was great! It's pretty rich and stronger than a regular Folgers or Maxwell House coffees, but I think it has a good flavor...maybe a metallic hint?? 🙂 I actually really did drink that coffee. Thanks for commenting!

Never took the lid off. Just drilled two holes to remove the coffee, and soldered two pipes with treads for petcock and has cap.

Did you switch the head around on the spark plug so it faces the exhaust if so did you notice any increase in power or efficiency

yeah,, now I know why so many just have the kit tanks. there are some moped oil tanks or dirtbike tanks that can work for some people. you have to be creative!

@TXJasper

Absolutely! But I couldn't use that tank because it sat to low. I ended up mounting the tank with the kit and turned out great. I'll do an update video soon. I've been battling covid for 18 days, and getting much better.

building a motorized bike at the moment and the bike i have has external brake cables that the fuel tank sits on, is this a problem for the first bike you built.
@TXJasper
@TXJasper 4 жыл бұрын
Congrats! My first motorized bike build had 3 shifter and brake cables under the tank too. My cables were not sleeved but had tiny donut shaped orings that kept my cables from touching the frame. I slid all those under the tank and it worked out fine. As long as your cables are sleeved or has some type of oring spacer to keep your cables free from being crushed you'll be ok. Attach the tank 1st before anything else to see if it works. Here's a link to somdthjng similar to what I had on my cables www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.amazon.com/MonkeyJack-Bicycle-Donuts-Housing-Accessories/dp/B077QBSTCJ&ved=2ahUKEwjE8_mcj5nlAhXFna0KHVIuAnwQFjABegQIBBAJ&usg=AOvVaw3HSjODm5EOj1Fmp1csGRxH Best of luck!

While the exposed cables may get pinched between the tank and the frame, t would either find a new location and style tank, or build a channel over the cables.

How do you get the post extensions?
@TXJasper
@TXJasper 4 жыл бұрын
I actually made them from screws at the hardware store. Bring the nut with the same thread count and buy long screws and a screw coupler ( attached a link with photo: www.mcmaster.com/bolt-extenders/metric-to-metric-female-hex-thread-adapters/). Cut the head of the screw off with a grinder and touch up with sand paper/fine file. Join together with the coupler and loctite.
