I like how you kept the video short and sweet. You have the RotorBuilds page to back up the gritty details. There are some nice build tips in the video and the writeup. Camera work in both formats is really nice. I could have used just a bit more "why" on the parts choices. Otherwise I wish all build video were like this!
@whiffles5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yeah you've got a good point. I could put more "why" in there. For example the Ratel is a cheaper alternative to the Micro Eagle with a debatably better picture. As for the frame, I just like the look of it and xt-xinte has a great price on it.

sweet build! I have one, with the Xing 2207 1800kv, Spedix IS40A 20x20, Tiny'sLEDs Unity 20x20 FC, Runcam Racer, Unify Race, Pyrodrone 1250mah 6s, and HQ 5.1x4.1x3 v1s. flies great

May I ask why you mounted the battery on the bottom? Most other builds I've seen place theirs on the top. Does the placement of the battery impact moment of inertia in some critical way or is it mostly just stylistic choice? Your builds are super cool BTW

I like my ratel but I've seen that a lot of people had them freeze mid flight and sometimes i have to restart it a couple of times for it to show colors correctly so I would upgrade to something like a micro eagle

Whiffles one quick question. What is the diameter of the motor-cable sleeves? U have any links for that? 🤭 Cheers 👌🏻

@@kawasakimouse It's called Para-Max and it's got a 1/4" diameter. It's the perfect size for these motor wires.

Hey Whiffles, thank you for these tutorials they really help new builders such as myself. Question, i have the same iron as the one used in this video(Hakko fx-888D) and have trouble with getting a nice ball of solder on my 4in1s, could you please tell me what temp you usually use and any other tips if you think they might help.

I use 700 degrees and I flux the pads before applying the solder.

I’m thinking about building this quad with the dji digital fpv system Was actually looking at the same motors Would you recommend the 1700 or 1800 for 6s?.. I want the fastest possible combination I’m not sure what stack I’m going to use yet Your build looks really great 👍 How does it fly?
@whiffles5 жыл бұрын
Just keep in mind that the DJI system can't take more than 4S so you need a flight controller with the proper voltage output. The difference between 1700kv and 1800kv is minimal. It's really up to your prop choice. This rig flies great.

Is crossfire worth it I'm looking at buying my first transmitter and I'm wondering if i should get frsky or tbs crossfire

It depends on your budget. Crossfire receivers cost quite a bit more than FrSky receivers. I do like that Tango 2 though. I might just buy one when they're available.
