lol omg this is an awesome video. true noobs. 1. tries to fly in house 2.doesnt do all the calibrations before maiden flight 3.grabs armed quad 4.doesnt make sure the props are configured in the proper direction 5. immediately goes into FPV flight without checking the flight characteristics in line of sight mode 6.flys over peoples homes and public roads without knowing the craft/equipment well (range, reliability, etc.) and the quad just falls out the sky. im only at 9:16 but still a great video a must watch for people getting into the hobby. learn from his mistakes so you dont have to repeat them. ESPECIALLY #6 if that thing would've fell from the sky and hit a moving vehicle causing it to swerve/crash with injuries it could spell disaster for the whole Hobby. they are looking for reasons to shut us down. fly safe, fly often

I didn't catch on until I watched their camera zip line video. Was doing double takes. Then they were in the same shot. Uhhhh... O.K. Then I started looking for difference, as they are not exactly identical twins. Easiest way for me - Steven has a mole on his lower left jaw, beneath the corner of his mouth. Also Steven looks to be a tad taller. Both have great personalities for this channel, which makes it a bit more difficult (besides their voices being almost the same) to tell them apart. Steven's eyes are a bit different than Mitchell's. Uh... guess enough said. I usually look for the mole.

@hrhodes27684 жыл бұрын
Rumi Hayes you can buy ready to fly and bind and fly quads but I would recommend building your own because when you break it you'll know exactly how to fix it I would recommend doing tons of research before you buy anything because re-buying all of your parts because they are not compatible or break really quickly you should check out a channel called Joshua bardwell because he is a massive wealth of knowledge and his channel still helps me with some problems after the last few years good luck!!
@b4ckd00r34 жыл бұрын
Rumi Hayes You could and should before flying a drone in real life, fly in a simulator first, remember these drones are not like dji drones which are fairly easy to fly and even beginners can do it after a few minutes. Fpv drones require practice and Im speaking from my own experience, before I bought the drone I bought myself the simulator and a transmitter so I could train beforehand. And I must admit that if I hadn’t trained, I would’ve crashed my drone on my first flight. About assembling. You dont need to but assembling one yourself really helps understanding everything and you can easily repair it if it breakes

Its only doing it like that because of a very important safety feature in the drone's flight controller that is preventing the drone from launching to the sky on its own as a result of the obvious mistake that the pilot made while configuring the settings in Betaflight. If this was attempted a couple years ago before that safety feature what implemented, the drone would have spun out of control into the sky and possibly never come back... but yeah, its cute.

Small heads up for all the future fpv pilots out there: Always use a multimeter to meassure for continuity and additionally a smoke stopper before pluggging in the first time (; Also never fly indoors unless you know what you are doing^^ This guy was so lucky to not loose a finger.... @strikerFPV5 жыл бұрын
@@LokaLize So generally it's tuning Mechanicals then Filters and then PIDs. Mechanical tuning is done by making a clean build e.g tightning all the screws, clean soldering, using a capacitor... and using (proper) soft mounting methods. Soft mounting is kind of a mechanical filtering which gets rid of some undesired effects described below. The good thing is, it's super easy and it always works. You can't break it. Just make sure to only use one soft mounting method. Don't overdo it or your quad will fly really "sluggish". Filtering in short: Your fllight controler has a little sensor, that messures the g-forces impacting on it. Called a gyro. This data and your inputs is then used to move the quad where you tell it to and correct movement that happens for whatever reason and you didn't give as input. So now the problem is, that we also have data in those readings, which actually is impossible for the motors to correct and also there's no reason. Those are mostly frequencies not visible and irelevant. Also we get noise into the gyro e.g electrical noise from motors or other stuff, that doesn't coresspond to real movements and shouldn't be corrected either. Because what happens if you correct a movement that isn't there? You actually introduce those vibrations. There's a lot of videos on filters and it definitly needs some time to understand them. Too low filtering can overheat your motors as your quad will try to react to those vibrations in frequencies it can't react to. Using Betaflight 4.1 Slider though makes it rather easy. Just keep lowering the filters and do extensive testing on each step. First thing to do is a short hover. If the motors are already warm you should go back a step. Although nice to test each stage with a little beat up props (flyable ones though^^). To visualize the gyro input you can enable logging in Betaflight and use BetaflightConfigurator and PidToolbox to visualize it. There's a ton of videos on this topic. PIDs: This is really something to watch video's on. So small changes usually don't do much. Changes by feeling never work for me. I am using PidToolbox to visualize my PID's and then change them accordingly. Usually I start with someone else PID's to a quad similar to mine (first make sure that you have a mechanically clean working quad). The tricky part on them is, that P, I and D values work with each other. Chaning one alone at a time like often suggested never brings me to the desired result. It's about the right ratios. This is where again the Betaflight 4.1 Sliders are really helpful. Well this ended as quite a lot of text. Hope it gives you a small insight into the topic though (:

I haven’t seen any comments about this yet, but this editing is incredible. Actually blowing my mind the effort put in to some of these transitions. The drone shots of the car in the snowy woods is such a minute detail and almost irrelevant to the entire video but adds such a dynamic vision of the area youre traversing and I really appreciate the time and effort put in to the minor details that most people don’t notice. Well fucking done.

I just want to say, I watched this vid near 2 months ago. I bought drone parts on January 5th (not the parts you mentioned in the description.) I received the parts about a week ago. I struggled a lot for a week to build my drone because of my 0 experience on how to and where to solder the wires. After figuring the wiring I came across another struggle, how to setup Betaflight and configure my drone. As you can expect I figured everything out except the one last problem you had with your drone. My drone mimicked the way your drone hopped on thrust and stopped. Luckily, I remembered your video and saw what you did to fix it. So, what I am saying is, thank you so much for including the part where you fixed your drone because it definitely fixed mine.

Small heads up for all the future fpv pilots out there: These drones can be a little dangerous. When you're a beginner, try to reach out to the local FPV community to get some guidance/help. The first time you arm/fly your new quadcopter, a series of issues can arise, that's why you need to test everything carefully before you can confidently fly in a little park like that in the middle of a residential area. One important test to do is to arm your quad whitout the props (important) and turn off your radio while the motors are spinning. This is especially important if you haven't setup a 'failsafe' yet. If the motors turn off you're fine, if they don't, you might lose the whole thing the first time you lose radio connection. Enjoy and fly safe! Edit: Now that I've watched the whole video it was actually insane! Can't believe you guys went to rip that spot after just a week of practice! Good stuff, that's what FPV is all about, keep it up!

The drone you built probably has 6-8kg of thrust... all of that force through 4 tiny propellers? You're lucky it didn't have much time to spin up or you might've been looking at fingers sliced off!! If you're holding onto the drone, if you hold with over 6-8kg thrust equivalent of grip strength you'd actually be ok. I know you said it but yes that was the number one thing NOT to do, he's totally lucky that's all the damage done to his finger... Sorry but want to drive this point home... IDIOTS!!! Oh and also that's why you don't fly over people... Drone looses connection and it will drop out of the air. Anyway welcome to the scene man👍

it's gotten so easy to switch the rotation of the rotors. back in the early days. like 2 years back you had to swap wires on between the ESC and the motor. any of the 3 wire you would switch would change the direction. Today click a button reverses the ESC. :D

You have turned the ESC's upside down. The arrow of the ESC's is not seen. The engines change the numbering address.

Sweet editing, music that makes you shake your bones and engaging entertaining content...all of which I have none of. I can't even fly my DJI MINI in "C" mode and not crash and forget about editing...so lost. Keep up the good flying. Keep the blue side up.

I really envy you, I started flying fpv about 3-4 years ago and stuff has improved so much lately and it’s so much easier now than it used to be to get started. Back in the day there were no simulator, you just crashed rebuilt and repeat :)

Hey there, what simulator would you recommend to use?

Omg this video is literally how to do everything wrong going into fpv drones :D Atleast one thing he did right (got decent 200 buck futureproof radio). Also you cant change direction of motors with one button enabled, rotation was already correct, but you only needed to tell a drone which direction is it (reversed or regular) :) Never leave balance plug hanging on your drone, it will get destroyed by propellers in no time! Otherwise, great entertaining video, fly save, enjoy the hobby!
@StaticModel4 жыл бұрын
@@justingriffioen No, it will not reverse motors, it will tell the FC if you wired motors in reverse or if you set it that way in ESC configurator. One toggle wont make motors change the direction of rotation.
@StaticModel4 жыл бұрын
@@justingriffioen dude, from your messages I can tell you are not very deep in to these things at all, first of all clarify your fc, bf version, or maybe that's kiss you are talking about, for example - am talking about fc guy used in video

even the next day ready for the first flight the props are still on wrong. this was a great vid. even with the blood loss.

Welcome to the hobby, I’ve Been flying for just over a year now. Honestly once you get better at building it’s almost as much fun as flying. Do yourself a favor, get better goggles, and a smaller soldering iron. Awesome video though!!👍
@TMSProductions5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. May need to invest in a better iron and goggles!
@Knemer19905 жыл бұрын
Get yourself some crossfire and some nice goggles. Don’t cheap out on telemetry or video.
@SCFPV5 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree with that. I went through so many cheap vtx's, goggles, and modules (Once I finally bought a pair of Fatsharks). The best things I've done since I started flying was to invest in a Tbs Fusion, high quality vtx's, an Frsky R9M and started using smart audio. My video alone got a $#!+ ton better, just by using the Tbs fusion with an AKK X-2 ultimate.
