Very good details. (center width, screw placement, no glue, jigsaw) Thank you.

You’re welcome, and thanks for the kind words!

I built my platform exactly like this- except it's 4 x 8 instead of 8 x 8. Works great for me.

has it held up?
@60secondsofsanity99 Жыл бұрын
@@DanteLikesRock Yes, we go fairly heavy (over 400 weekly and sometimes over 500) and drop it pretty fast on the way down. Can't even tell it's been used.

What dimensions do you use for a dead lifting platform if your space is more confined? Great Video. lol Milo

Hey there, Brett! I made a part 2 to this video, and I cover the deadlift platform at the 4:27 mark: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJi1nmmVrseJeq8.

What sort of blade do you use in the jig saw? Coarse teeth or fine teeth?
@TestifySC4 жыл бұрын
I don’t actually remember since that blade isn’t on there anymore, but I’d bet it was coarse. Overall, though, it probably doesn’t matter for the purpose of cutting a rubber mat. If you’ve got a jigsaw, you can probably just use whatever is already on there.

@@TestifySC There are a plethora of jig saw blades available including upcut and downcut blades. I'd experiment with one or the other of those and fine or coarse teeth. One might work better than another.

@@FuzzBangbuster Roger that, and thanks for the heads up! Admittedly, I"m hoping I don't have to cut any more mats any time soon :-)

@@TestifySC I'm about to cut one for a truck bed mat, which is how I came to be here first as I'm trying to find the best method for cutting them. I'll get back to you with details in case others are interested...

@@FuzzBangbuster Any update? About to cut mine and I had the box cutter out, but I'd save a lot of time with a jigsaw.

Due to lumber prices now you have to use your whole stimulus check on making one. :P

Why do you use two pieces of horse stall mats? Instead of a long single piece
@TestifySC11 ай бұрын
Solid question. The standard horse stall mat dimensions are 4‘ x 6‘. You can get them in 8 foot lengths (i.e., the length of the platform), but you have to special order them, and they’re rather pricey. You can get your standard 4’ x 6’ mat at a Tractor Supply store or something similar.
