@michaelanderson72604 жыл бұрын
Watching you make your skateboard made think about the skateboards I used to build back in the mid 60’s. That’s when skateboarding first became popular. Today’s skateboards are allot safer with the wide truck tires, we only had a hard composite type truck tires like what was on roller skates back then.

@MikeFarrington3 жыл бұрын
They make hand pump operated vacuum bags. They are less the 50 bucks I think. So that's an option. If you don't want to go that route, you will need male and female bending forms and a bunch of clamps.

@MikeFarrington5 жыл бұрын
Its an Amana cutter and bearing set. Part number 61292 plus the matching bearing. My shaper has a 1" spindle so I use a 1" to 1 1/4" reducer. Overall is a really nice cutting tool.

Awesome video! Structurally, how important are the veneer layers? I feel really bad using an amazing piece of wood and covering it with grip tape lol
@MikeFarrington4 жыл бұрын
They are not structural. You could easily make a board with only the 1/8" plywood layers. Its just a question of how many layers is the right amount for your weight, which comes down to personal preference.

The shaper cutter is from Amana. They make all manner of flush trim bits for routers, nothing even close to the shaper cutter though. Look up white side router bits. Thank you Barbara. I wish I had an answer, guys who do good work are hard to find these days. The current market seems to reward speed and lower quality vs finer craftsmanship. Unfortunately, I don't do long distance deliveries of large projects. Smaller projects, I don't mind shipping.

If you don't have a wide belt, using the planer with a sled will work. The other option is to find a small local shop with a wide belt and rent time. I sand stuff for a ton of small time makers in my area. 63 and still on a longboard is awesome. I hope thats me.
