Wow, this is amazing, I've been wanting to start making my own dioramas so watching this gives some inspirations and shows the effort that goes into making them.

congrats on coming out btw, I was wondering what you were up to and came to see some sick models. When I came to the channel I found out and CONGRATSS. I myself have been looking to come out my whole life so am a bit jealous both of you coming and out and of your incredible modelling skills :P

I guess it depends on location being modeled and whether it is a main line a secondary or an industry siding, but It seems like 2.7mm is a bit low for average roadbed elevation as it only comes out to 9.25 inches in full scale. Normally I try to shoot for around 1ft - 3ft in roadbed elevation but I live in the USA and model eastern class 1 railways and class 3 where they most of the time have 2ft - 5ft of roadbed ballast under there rails.

I've been dealing with insomnia and anxiety on and off for a few years now and your videos helped me greatly, Elle. Your models are always quality and the whole process is just so soothing for me. From a fellow trans person, congrats on coming out and I'm so looking forward to whatever your next project is going to be :)

Wiring always seems to be put under the board. And for the DCC wiring, I get it. However for a simple DC layout, what would be wrong with having the wiring on top of the board. Wiring could run parallel to tracks then across the scenery snd covered with ballast or scenery. With wiring that needs to cross the tracks, it could run under the track via a cut in the cork? Would that work? I’m old so I cannot get inter tables to wire all that stuff up under there easily.

I woke up in the middle of the night and went "I wonder if Boulder Creek has released any videos lately?" I was overjoyed to see you're still building gorgeous models! I started watching your videos years and years ago, and in that time I came out as trans and transitioned. Imagine my joy and surprise in seeing you have also done the same! I'm so immensely happy for you and hope to catch up on your videos going forward! Thank you for continuing to be inspiring to me and teaching techniques I use every day in my work!

This looks amazing... has me wanting to try my hand at them... could be perfect for making Gunpla Diaramma's build a few of these city bits and then have a Gunpla STOMP around add some explosions somehow ... think I'm going to have to get a new gunpla to go with these kits

Elle, I'm so happy for you! I've been watching and recommending your videos for years now, you even gave me enough energy to re-try some old model kits I had laying around for the better part of a decade- and ended up liking it so much I started making appropriate ones as gifts! The scenery tutorials encouraged my to try some basic dioramas for some of aforementioned models- but wow that was another step into the unknown. And speaking of steps into the unknown, on a personal note I too had my epiphany earlier this year and also started my transition as well. It's so comforting to see another trans sister keeping her hobbies in full force while finding her new happy! Keep going and good fortune in all aspects!

I would overlap the floor texture by one line of bricks so you don't have to paint over the white line.

Hi, Elle! I’ve been a viewer for many years now and I just wanted to say that it makes me feel incredibly proud and happy for you to have come out. A challenging and rewarding journey and all I wish for you is love, peace, and happiness. I sit here in tears thankful for the many trans women in my life being role models for me and elated to in some small way count you as one of them. Thank you for your impact, and here’s to your beautiful and bright future! -Harley

Beautiful work!! Reminded me of Multnomah falls in Oregon before I even heard that the bridge was modeled off it. I have been there many times. A beautiful place to visit. The parking lot is one of the last places to safely pull over between there and the edge of Portland on the highway along the Columbia gorge. When my husband and I were coming back to Oregon after eloping for a year, we were driving a very beat up old dodge Mirada. He said he had prayed that if the car were to give out, that it be before the falls. Right as we passed the parking lot its carburetor just clogged up and we were able to pull over right near the median. Literally the last possible place to pull over. We had to call my sister in law and get a ride the rest of the way back, and while we waited for her we hiked around the falls. We have been back for many occasions, we brought our first child there when he was a few weeks old and have a picture of him with his aunt who had come to our rescue five years prior to his birth. Many other occasions. We are from the mid Willamette valley. Again, Gorgeous work! I love how much your falls look like the real place although I know you’re really just creating your own place and adding in the bridge. Thanks for bringing back some great memories
