Rob Scott has built a beautiful underground wine cellar below the lounge of his home. There are no electricity costs as the underground cellar remains at a constant cool temperature year round and no special cooling system is required. So no extra electricity costs.
There are tons of other interesting items in the video, including the special staircase that hey designed for the cellar. Have a look, it's fascinating.

Love this build. I'd love something like it, but I'd first have to figure out how to waterproof it. What I am stealing however is the way you've made the U shaped blocks. I'll be using some to create a planter wall in my garden.

Amazing mate!.. You should paint the place... Some colour would look nice down there.. Would look great in the photos... You could get some of your more artistic guests to add some contribution to the creation 🤘😊 Nice work brother!.🤙

I'm still wondering where this guy lives that he was able to hand dig 3.3 meter deep! In America where I live, you hit a rock every 4 inches down you dig! Very nice work.

Hello brother Rob. This is a great work, and i am inspired by the cellar. Do you have a problems with drenage? Does the concrete bottom allows water to go into the cellar?

No he put down a pool liner first. In the original design they use a tripple liner. They dig the hole put in a steel tube then install a plastic pool liner then they build the inner structure and pour concrete between the blocks and the plastic liner. The result is no chance of water coming up through the soil. You can also use gravel as the floor instead of the concrete slab. That will allow any water that comes in to drain through the floor. Say the cellar gets flooded. Since this ones inside i dont think they are worried about that hence the concrete slab floor.

What about humidity?
@robscott4230

No moisture can get in due to the waterproof dam liner behind the blocks, but i leave the trap door open now and then to breathe a bit and get stale air out. I did install an electric cable to the trapdoor incase i needed to put in an extractor fan but havent needed to so far

I thought you wanted humidity. Without a certain level of humidity, your corks could dry and crack. Ideally, you want a gravel bottom with lime stone walls and a wooden roof to allow plenty of humidity in.
