They built shit, They had a lay out plan and got everyone else to build it. If you notice the last four days they were working all day and night as they broke the rules on the budget build. Wasn't able to iron out issues. They are just banking on Brads losing performance so RX7 doesn't need pushing or it goes boom!

@@TheRealTieLUR It's not a question of their quality or skills, but given the short time frame and budget I imagine there is A LOT of things they would have liked to do. This especially considering that they're using a used/older motor that is prone to issues, whereas Brad using a built motor.

That s10 makes twice the torque and the same hp. It should wipe the floor with that rx7 in a drag race. I'm guessing traction will be the only factor that changes that. Trucks aren't great for traction. Also Brad is over budget so...

@Reactionary Hermit The weight doesn't really matter. The substantial torque difference is more than enough to make up for that. And if they set up the chassis right, that weight will be an advantage in a race. Lots of hp and no torque, with a light car, just makes a really good drift and burnout car, not a good drag car.

Mustang dynos don’t read low. If calibrated correctly. Brent from pfi speed has a dyno jet and a mustang awd unit. Same car was run on both. 4-5 hp different. Was a 350-400 hp car from memory.

If you watch the screen when they put cars on the awd dyno at PFI they have a 1.24 correction factor on it, so it is showing almost 25% higher power. This is a user entered multiplier. I wondered why it had such a stupid high correction but it seems that he tried to make it match the old dyno. You are right though mustang dynos don't read low, it's just that dynojet reads high. It is pretty well documented the guy who created dynojet deliberately put a "fudge factor" into them that makes them read higher. He had engineers perfectly calibrate the dyno then at the last minute decided to add a correction in so that the numbers matched the claimed power output of some old motorcycle, so dynojets basically have like a conversion to crank power built in where every other dyno reads power at the wheels. If you google "dynojet fudge" you can read all about it.

Power loss on a chassis dyno is not a set percentage that magically sucks up more power the more you make (thats how percentages work). If your 250hp car dyno's at 200whp then that 50whp drivetrain loss is always going to be its drive train loss even if the car is modded to 500hp doesn't mean its going to suddenly have 100whp in drivetrain loss (if using the same 20% logic) Gale Banks talked about this during his appearance on The Smoking Tire Podcast #389 at 133:13 if you don't believe me.
