What a stunning model of my favourite Red Dwarf ship. Those interior details are incredible. Tax disc and 'not alert' 👌🏽

Thank you for this build. Red Dwarf is criminally unappreciated in sci-fi circles.

There was genius in the Gerry Anderson Supermarionation productions. As kids we could have a small, die cast Thunderbird 2 and it looked to us at the time just like the hero model from the show. The Red Dwarf miniatures are similar and done in a way for comical effect. As adult modellers we know better. Recreating the studio miniature to this high a degree takes talent and skill. Great job, Phil.

Hey Phil, you did an awesome job. I love the lighting, the paint work, and the weathering. I also like the diffuser you used in the engine bell. Nice job with the glamour shots too. You really nailed this build. Good job.

Odd I don't seem to remember this in the show! I mainly remember the green one, Star Bug? ... Another great build!.... And it went together so well, .... Hope you and Mrs SprueVerse had a great Christmas, and all the best for the New Year, Take care!

Very nice build, looks great. On a glossed surface the Florey wash works really well as a panel liner too. Have a Happy New Year.

A fine result, Phil. I really liked your metallic layering on the road wheels and return rollers. While the effect is subtle, it is quite effective. We who build a lot of armor are very much in tune with what layering can do to bring interest, realism, and a three-dimensional effect to a model.

That engine effect is sick. Have to remember dimensional acetate for my projects.

It's nice when your shirt matches your model colors! And who would've thought Pan Am would go extinct? Everything is moving along swimmingly-- very nice work. I have two thoughts about that low-down hallway lighting-- one is to build up lighting with a string of LEDs-- just cobble it together. The other is to get yourself to a Dollar Store or Dollar Tree OR a Harbor Freight store and get yourself some of the interesting new little work lights. They are COB lights that run on 4.5V. They work at 3V. But what's interesting is that in those forms, they are the most affordable for their sizes. There's little short lengths of about 1.25" that are very bright. The larger work lights are maybe 4" long-- just what you might need for the tight space of that hallway lighting area. Of course, you should look these up for almost any other project. I found that it was possible to cut them, if you can find the "unit" spot-- similar to the "cut here" line of strip lighting.

As a huge Red Dwarf fan, I would absolutely love this, but, it’s way out of my budget, plus, my painting skills wouldn’t do it justice, I do plan on getting the Red Dwarf and starbug models from Gambody as I have a Bambu P1S with AMS so can 3d print in different colours, which removes the painting requirements.

48:52 It's Tax Disc, but we don't have them anymore, they show (showed) that the vehicle wasTaxed, and the date it was due to be re newed. But they did away with them some time back, and it's all done on the internet.
@timelordvictoriousАй бұрын
Shame they don’t want to make an Lego of red dwarf . This is cool thou
@TDaxАй бұрын
We called it a tax disc....it had to be displayed on the windscreen (usually bottom left hand corner (from inside the car). You could only get one if you produced a valid vehicle identification document, a valid insurance certificate (in you name) and a valid MOT. They stopped the displaying of the disc about 10 years ago (? 2014).... it's all done automatically these days.

What functions would you want on a board? Programming a small arguing Trinket is pretty simple and I’m sure you could find someone to program it for you.

I just saw the 35 minute mark where you describe the cockpit function. That should be pretty easy.
