So funny! My daughters used to collect napkins when they were young so I am very used to swiping napkins from places. Even our neighbors used to give them napkins from the very pack they opened! We saved the entire collection like 4 large shoe boxes and passed them down to my granddaughters. It was such a nice hobby!

LOL we did as well as kids but I didn't keep them. We kept the ones from restaurants so we would know where we had traveled. I also collected pencils, erasers, stickers, etc... lol that's so nice that you kept them. And I read your reply to me that's so nice that you made Aliya. I never lived in israel. we moved to venezuela when I was 1 year old and and to canada when I was 15 so I have a mixed accent. I speak fluent hebrew but have a hard time reading and writing. I can do it but I'm so slow lol. I need the dots (nekudot) it was nice meeting you Simone and thanks for your love and support!

This is just gorgeous, Keren! I love it. You could never tell it started with napkins. You have also answered a problem I had, which I couldn't find an answer to anywhere online - using distress micro glaze to seal something, and then being able to add further layers. The gesso you put on over the micro glaze went on like a dream. I have added spray stains and also spatters with them on my project and want to add further layers but being water-reactive, I was losing the definition I had. I put the micro glaze on, and then tried painting with some coffee and it just beaded up, which wasn't a surprise I suppose. Now I know I can add a layer of clear gesso and carry on. I wonder if it would work with gel medium instead of gesso? Working with layers in mixed media can be quite challenging, I find, to stop things turning to mud!
@KerenTamir2 жыл бұрын
thank you so much Shoshi, yes its a game changer for anything reactive. You can definitely add gel medium on top although not sure if it will resist it. However gel medium doesn't have the grit that gesso does, so clear gesso would be a better solution if you're adding more water soluble mediums
@ShoshiPlatypus2 жыл бұрын
@@KerenTamir Thank you so much for your reply, Keren. You are so good at replying to everybody, and being so popular and having so many people visit you and comment, it must be a full time job lol! I shall definitely try the clear gesso - thanks for the tip.
@KerenTamir2 жыл бұрын
my pleasure I really try as I feel is important. I am not at the point yet that I can't reply as I don't get thousands of comments yet LOL
@ShoshiPlatypus2 жыл бұрын
@@KerenTamir Lol! You wait... We all love you and I'm sure that number is growing! You may have to employ a secretary soon. As for the clear gesso - it works! I put on a coat before getting supper and went up to check it was dry, and painted some coffee/white acrylic circles on my page and it worked a treat. All my drips and spatters from before have remained intact. Clear gesso is definitely the answer! I shall do some experiments with different gel mediums and see if they work too - the clear gesso is really gritty and I don't like the feel of it quite so much, but I can put up with that if I'm getting such good results with it. Thank you again - you are a star.

@@KerenTamir You're right. I followed each of your links and none of them said "currently unavailable". They preferred the words 'sold out' or 'reserve'. It's all the same thing. Lindy's Amazon store is the "currently unavailable" place. NO matter how you stack it, no product!
