EJ powered expiremental... just awesome. You know where this ends, right? Next we go 2JZ, throw in a K24 and maybe some RB for good measure. Which based on your accent should be relatively accessible given I constantly scroll through engines listed for sale there.

Hi Michael, Great videos and and great projects! I built an Osprey and really wish I had turbo for high altitude lakes. In addition to high altitude lakes, long distance cruising in an amphib really benefits from the exponential decrease of drag with altitude (and our amphibs are draggy birds!). Do you have altitude intents or are you just after power? If just power, why not go with higher compression? On a separate note, while you will have plenty of elevator authority with power on, I worry that your elevator/stabilizer may be too short for sufficient elevator authority in power off and high angle of attack conditions. Also, I found VG's especially helpful for the Osprey (stall reduction, slow-flight control, and importantly around the cockpit to reduce prop cavitation and increase high angle of attach control authority). I look forward to your adventures. Cheers!

Thanks for the comments- I really need to get back to this project. I haven’t built the elevator yet so may take your advice there and extend it . I chasing both power and altitude so turbo is the natural choice my Cruzer had high compression NA and only got 160hp I’m chasing 200+ for this project.

looks like you have a bit of storage in the back as well how much extra weight can you carry with a passenger on board?
@michaelhille2612 жыл бұрын
@Cameron Lapworth yes I have plenty of room and payload should be all up 400kg payload including passengers so it should be able to carry 150kg of camping gear or roughly 300lb

I may have missed it. Are you shielding those rubber components and the front of the engine from the exhaust? You are going to get a lot of radiative heat soaking into the intercooler as well.
@michaelhille2612 жыл бұрын
@Tim S I will probably need to do some shielding I was thinking the intercooler should be ok cruising at 100kts there should be enough airflow to push the radiant heat away but I definitely will need to look at the engine side. Thanks for the comment appreciate it gives me ideas 👍
