This is a fantastically clear and detailed build of such an ancient (by Forgeworld standards) model. The instructions on these old kits were an absolute joke, which I've had personal experience over the years (having built an Arvus Lighter and a Malcador).

Thanks! :) I've got an Arvus lighter still to build, I've always wanted to get a Malcador though, such a lovely tank.

My Arvus actually went together pretty well, though the fit of the hull halves was very poor on the inside (but since I didn't leave the rear hatch movable, that wasn't too bad). If you wanted do a full visible interior on it, there might be some toil involved. The only outwardly visible issues with my kit are that one of the landing gear is twisted and in like 7-8 years, I've yet to manage adding all the clear panels to the canopy. The Malcador's a bit of a pain by comparison. I've a Defender so several of the heavy bolter sponsons were rather badly cast and needed all kinds of shims to both stay movable and not rattle around like mad.

Yay your back can’t wait to see the rest of this series

I'll try and get the video's out as quick as possible, the model is all built and painted (has been for a long time) It's just a matter of editing together the videos now.

Regarding the canopy windows, if I ever get my hands on this model, I think that I would use the UV resin from Greenstuff World and pour that in, while using some tape to seal the back, I guess. Unless the model comes with clear resin parts at that point

I can't see them upgrading the kit to clear resin, but it would be nice if this did for sure. That's a clever idea actually about making your own.

@@Beyondthetabletop I was inspired by Black Magic Craft. He uses the UV resin to make windows in his terrain builds.

Really useful series of videos. I've got a Marauder Destroyer to build and this will be of great help - especially compared to the FW print out
@Beyondthetabletop4 жыл бұрын
Glad you're enjoying it. It's been an easier build than the Gorgon Transport by a long way. However the arrows being all over the place on the printout really dont help, they should fix that.
@courtneyhollyoake82684 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't really understand why someone hasn't fixed the instruction arrows. Makes it more fun to try and build I guess.

Good news to see the rest of the build, i maybe missed it but how are you going to base it ? i see no holes for a flying stand like the Valkyrie in the model, this is what restrains me the most for buying large flying models (exept the price)
@Beyondthetabletop4 жыл бұрын
It's not visible in this video but in the first one you can see a little widget to glue to the underside that's compatible with the standard flying stand. However I opt for a custom base, that's coming in a future video.

Hey, just found your channel and subbed. I have a question RE the front and rear turrets; it appears that there is a considerable gap directly above the gunner. Is this covered by the canopy? As it is hard to tell from the pics on the FW website, thanks.
@Beyondthetabletop4 жыл бұрын
I replied to this over on Instagram but thought i'd also post here for everyone else's benefit. This is something which on the FW photos isn't done as a window. Because it's difficult to install a window pane here as the pane is split between two halves of the gunner canopy. However I cover how I solved this in the next video, so it can actually have a window installed.

Lovely kit. Shame the skid faces weren't textured. Missed a trick there I feel
@Beyondthetabletop4 жыл бұрын
I guess it's more aerodynamic not having that detail on but it's something I would have done. In the end I didn't have time to add that detail on to the kit and it wont be visible during gameplay.
