Build Report! - HobbyKing Pursuit mono with two outboards!

Hi there people :)
On YT, and on some forums I was asked to show how I build my HobbyKing Pursuit.. And this time I TRIED to do that in a video..
Here is what I came up with :)
I'd very much like to know if this was any good, as a first attempt :) And if this kind of video has any value this way..

Ha Roeland. Dat is de oplossing. Mn 4pl heeft de FH setting nodig. Heb ook een 4PLS, die doet het alleen in de FHSS modus. Erg verwarrend allemaal daar er op de ontvanger S-FHSS/FHSS staat. Op S-FHSS doet hij dus niets!! Dank voor je coaching weer!!! Groet Rob

Not sure that's possible to do as the transom has a bustle and an extension for a rudder. It will look pretty odd.

Hoi, maar even in deze bootpost: kon de oude discussie niet vinden, we hebben overlegd over altenatieve ontvangers voor mn futaba 4pl. Ik heb er een van orange aan de praat gekregen, maar op jouw aanraden er 2 van frsky gekocht.. Nou het mooie, binden ging snel, zender aan, knopje indrukken stroom er. Op, groen - rood knipperen, binden, stroom van ontvanger uit en weer aan, groene bindlampje brand, maaaaaaar servo doet noppes. Ik doe vast weer wat superfout. Coaching weer welkom. Groet Rob

+Robby Race Howdy Rob :D hmmm! dat is wel weird, maar als ie bind lijkt het best goed al.. Servo-kabeltjes er op de kop in? Van links begonnen met 'poorten' tellen, ipv rechts? OHW! Je zender moet voor Dat model in Type 'FH' staan volgens mij.. (bij de model keuze onderaan).. Zo ie zo even alle mogelijkheden proberen.. Daar zal het Vast in zitten :)

Thank you very much buddy! :D I'm still quite fond of this one myself as well.. Well.. it's winter over here, so the water is Very cold.. Normally, if I have to rescue a boat, I just dive in :P At the moment that wouldn't be adviceable ;)

Hi there on the other side of the world ;) thank you offcourse! I still have this boat (displayed in my living room at the moment). Looks quite nice, and it runs well.. I installed those magnets with 24-hour epoxy glue.. Ohw, and I scuffed the magnets up a bit with sanding-paper.. Works like a charm.. they aren't coming off :) Cheers!

Hi there Steve :) You're welcome offcourse! I do know of one other guy that has build the boat like I have.. A bit closer to you as well.. He's in NZ I think ;) To be honnest I personally don't really like to hassle around with hatch-tape, but yeah.. it Would be best, in case you flip to boat on over huh? :) Cheers!

Thanks Igor :) Well 'exact'.. I got them from a quality hardware store, so Not from an RC company or China.. Earth magnets offcourse.. Mine are +/- 1.5cm in diameter.. Works out Well :)

Howdy :) Well I did not really build it to be Fast.. i wanted something different with a realistic 'ride'.. Having said that: on 4S it's quite a monster.. It kinda only rides on the 2 motors with the hull barely touching the water.. I have no exact speed, but 90-100km/h I'd say..

thanks for the reply 4s is what I have in mind, I have already upgraded my motors to one of the faster heli motors and my props are now 38mm I cant go bigger without shimming the cavitation plate higher, runs too fast for my F1 hydro, it just wants to fly over so I will move these outboards to a Pursuit or Genesis. youve inspired me to move forward with my project

Yes haha :D I've got one of them outboards on a F1 boat as well.. Quite tricky to keep it from turning into a plane ;) Good on ya! It was quite a fun project & it runs really well :)

oeps.. that is unfortunate.. I never needed a replacement myself but do remember they were hard to find.. I would ask / look around at the rcgroups forum.. I am sure there are more people that use these motors there.. Sorry I don't have more info on this..

Hoi (weet je naam niet?!) Zender staat in S-FH (high), servo in slot 1, bruine draadje van servo net als de lifepo4 aan de onderkant, normaal begint een servo toch altijd wat te bewegen als je m in de ontvanger stopt, maar alles blijft stil, moet toch niet uitmaken of er een digitale servo aanhangt? Alle andere ook geprobeerd, hij bind ook in S-Fh. Grrr

+Robby Race ALS je de zender (voor dat model) op FH hebt gezet, moet de zender geloof ik eerst even uit-en-aan, voordat hij werkelijk overschakelt.. Ik denk toch wel dat het Daar in zit.. De servo-kabel zit dan inderdaad goed.. Een digitale servo moet zeker kunnen.. Ik heb in auto's ook wel digitale servo's aan zulke ontvangers hangen....

Hehe, I have the same tendencies as you. Currently looking into doing an Ariane 2 with a pair of TFL jet drives. I'm sure you'd like my MHZ Racemaster with TFL P1 Sterndrives:)

Mij ook niet, if it works don't fix it!!! Ben benieuwd wat de range is op het water, ben van spectrum overgestapt naar futaba hiervoor, dus zou mooi zijn als de range ook goed is, anders gaan ze in een auto

Yeah.. I follow a few (non RC) US channels.. More forrest fires then usual.. I've never been to the West Coast by the way.. I made it as far as Texas (by car from Miami)

Sorry to hear that. So. Cal for Sunny Beaches especially San Diego - cleaner air than L.A. Northern CA for fog 12 months out of the year & tall Redwood Trees. Much more leisurely folks - kick back :))
