I watched your other vid about your water station build, very simple and works great. I made one small change to your water station design. Where you have a ro/di water coming out of the top can with a T going into bottom can (salt water) and the other side going to a spigot for filling a jug. before the valve i installed another T with a braided hose going down to a T just before the pump. with another T just after the return side of the pump I put another T and plumed it through my ceiling to my sump, so I can switch between pumping salt water (for water changes) or filling my 25gal top off reservoir. It takes me about 5 min to fill my ATO or closing valves to pump 40gal for my water changes. This gives me peace of mind not relying on a automated system, that at some point WILL fail.

I need those amazon leak detectors! AWESOME! You are making everything on this system very easy on yourself. Thanks for sharing your build,thoughts and tips with us!

I'm really enjoying the build process. I have nothing but time, so that makes things a tiny bit less stressful, lol.

Looking Great - love the closing picture, and that the apex equipment is viewable. Sweet. Bet you are chomping at the bit to get some life in that tank : ) This gave me some great ideas for my reservoir as well, going to add the solenoid as another layer of redundancy, even though it is in my basement. Happy New Year!
@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
Hey Eco, thank you very much for the encouraging comment of having given you some ideas. Really appreciate it. For a few extra dollars, a solenoid is a great addition, even if it saves you from the work of having to clean and dry out the water in your basement. Thanks for watching and commenting! Happy New Year!

Nice setup. Wish I could do this. Tired of lugging buckets to fill my ATO. Unfortunately my run is too long. With all that redundancy you should be good to go. Happy New Year!
@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
At 15', I get a strong stream of water, not sure how long your run would be. Really makes it hassle free.

Yeah no basements here in California and I live in a single story. I would have to go from my garage into my attic, across the house then down into the wall. I sure would like to have the setup you just shared. So convenient.

It's just as easy to manually fill the reservoir and control the risk as I've been doing for years. Never had issue yet
@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
Hey Dee, I would consider that route, but I'm gone 3 weeks at a time, several times a year. I've run the ATO this way (minus the solenoid) on my previous build. Knock on wood, so far so good. Hope you're doing GREAT and have a great New Year!!!

ReeferGil I like the solenoid valve. I’m going connect on and pump water up from my basement

You'll probably make your own monitoring system, eh? 😃

I feel like filling your auto top off manually is one of those key steps that should be kept in the hobby to keep you in tune with your system. I have it set up so that once a week I turn a valve on my RODI system to fill my ATO tank while I am doing water testing. Takes a minute or two but I feel that those ten total minutes per month are worth it rather than months and months of misery from an overflowN ATO tank or even worse, a tank that is killed off by a failed built in RODI/ATO fixture
@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
That's a great point Electric. Completely relying on technology or automated systems can bite you REAL hard. I do my best to keep my finger on the system's pulse.

I bought the brs kit for auto filling my reservoir, but have no idea where to install it on the rodi unit. Do I put it before the resin container or after?
@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the auto shutoff and check valve that goes on the RO unit?

@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
Hey Cuban, if you're new to the Neptune Systems Forums, you can not create a new thread until you've commented on 25ish other posts... if I remember correctly. Maybe someone else can jump in here if I'm wrong.

It must be nerve wracking to trust the setup for the first few weeks after setup. But you've got it all dialed in. Seems super convenient.
@ReeferGil7 жыл бұрын
LOL, YES it most definitely can be. I've ran this method with my previous system too, minus the solenoid.

If you had a canister filter you wouldn't have to worry about water leaking are people with salt water tanks don't believe in canister filters
