Did the black plastic part around the UV light start braking apart or melt on urs? I bought the same one and it melted and killed majority of my fish as well turned the water black. I noticed it very late, i was confused to what was causing the water to go black despite trying everything

I just did this, I’m not sure it was necessary but it worked out fine. I had my tank in storage for 10 years until I had a living situation that worked for me. After bleaching and drying there was 0 traces of chlorine.

I have a pair of clownfish that would not go anywhere near my nem .One day, I shot a load of brine shrimp into the nem. The one clown rushed for the food accidentally and touched he nem .Now the one clown doesn't leave it alone .

I am going through this right now. I have 2 tanks, 180 and 210. They both run from the same sump in the basement. My 210 is a replacement for a 265 that was leaking. When it started to leak, i moved all the fish i had (about 25) into a temporary 55 gallon tank. The 210 replacement was supposed to show up 2 days later. It did but the company sent a non reef tank by accident, so i sent it back. Took another week to get the correct reef tank. During that extra week, the fish in the 55 started dying. I took what was left and put it in the new 210. I turned on the system which connected it to the sump which also fed the 180. 2 weeks later and i lost almost all fish from both tanks. Its been very difficult to go through. And its not over yet, everh morning i wake up to more death. I tried copper in a seperate qt tank with my 13 inch naso and watched him take his last breath after 30 mins in there. I feel better knowing that i found this video and im not alone. I too wanted to give up, but i have strength now to hopefully regroup.

@@ReeferGil i bet it was man. I really got into this hobby because it helped me get by the pain i went through when i lost my bulldogs max and lady. Worse pain i ever went through. Max, hit by a car infront of me. Lady, got very very sick to the point where she could walk anymore. Killed me.

Sounds just like my experience. I was on my last fish to put thru QT and into my 300G fowlr. It carried velvet into my tank and killed all but 4 fish. I had to treat the DT. Remove all inverts, take them fallow for 70 days, and now im starting over. I don't know what I'll do if it happens again.

I must say that yours is THE BEST video I've watched regarding the use of DWV. I will buy some, ready for my next clean up. It will (apparently) get rid of lime scale on the top of the tank and lighting tube. Just DON'T put the tube in it, just wipe over with a towelling rag and a bit of elbow grease. Job done.

@YoureBreathtaking Жыл бұрын
Your big mistake was not to seperate the clownfish. What you could have done was set up and cycle a smaller tank, just life rock with or without their anemone.Move the clownfish pair into their own tank. Then you can add anything you want (except clownfish) in the main tank. After everything settled (a year after the last animal addition), and everything is fine. Slowly acclimate the clownfish back into the main tank, if there's any aggression use a container for fish breeding. Very noobish and impatient mistake.
