It’s a fantastic build and I love watching you show me a preview of what’s coming up. I just wish I could get parts on a regular basis.

I thought its best to see when the trims are put in place if we have gap problems myself. Loving the build as all ways. Stay safe all.

Please check the gear alignment at 4:37. It looked like the arrows on your gears were misaligned by one tooth. That might explain the difference in hood gap at the end.

I didn't expect the hinges to be so elaborate, I was imagining the type of hinges you get on like a door inside a house. Also didn't expect the hinges to hold the bonnet open like that, I thought you'd get one of those stick things inside that you prop bonnets up with.

Looks great. I just finished the wiring and the initial electrics test. I noticed a few of my dashboard buttons were wrong. Oops. Just had to figure out and rearrange the plugs to get them all doing the correct thing.

Well done Wayne. No breaking springs. Just noticed how problematic it could be installing the bonnet. I will remove the engine bay frame to install the bonnet, as I don't want to damage the body.
@2rueblue3 жыл бұрын
You can put a little shim in where the screw goes to offset it a little, a small fibre washer would do and just sand it until it gives you the movement needed for the bonnet, it's the same deal with a full size car, panel gap always takes time. Tighten one side and loosen the other, it just takes a little tuning buddy
@Milner623 жыл бұрын
Not just that but cars like this in the real world didnt have perfect panel gaps even from the factory.
@bedfordshiremodeller44913 жыл бұрын
You could even add asmall dab of Silicone Grease on those gears for smoother cog movement

I think the adjusted spring ( tighter on the one side ) is the cause of the gap 🤔
@WorldofWayneUK3 жыл бұрын
I checked that it didn't make a difference.

Love these videos! They make me (slightly!) less anxious about starting this build/ Can you recommend a precision screwdriver? I've gone through so many on the "Build The Terminator" build and about to start this one and would like a good screwdriver.

The Wera PH0 . Its in my Amazon store. Check for links in the description of any of my videos.
@alainrule99073 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne, could the small panel gap difference be due to you having to shorten one spring when it broke?
@WorldofWayneUK3 жыл бұрын
No the spring only gives tension it does not change position of the hinge positions.
@alainrule99073 жыл бұрын
@@WorldofWayneUK ah, makes sense... I just wondered if the spring was pulling it back slightly... love all the builds...

Wayne, for those how have not done the Mains/battery upgrade (like me), do you have any suggestions on how to remove and/or insert new and old batteries, once the Ecto-1 is complete? Especially since the car will be quite heavy and turning it on its side or upside down could cause damage.
@WorldofWayneUK3 жыл бұрын
It's actually quite simple. Push it to the end of a table so the back overhangs. Get on your knees and you will have access to the battery box without having to turn it over.

Yeah I know that you already answer this question but how wide and how tall is the ecto1 I know that I can’t afford the top acrylic sheet cover for the top to go over the ecto1 so I think that it’s cheaper to make the plexiglass top case cover myself

I may be wrong but from the pictures the case might need to be 30cm to 40cm because of the radio aireale.

Heads up to my friends in the US, if you're unhappy with eaglemoss threaten to cancel. They will give you a 20% discount on your future shipments so instead of 50 bucks a month you will only have to pay 40. They'll also offer to group your shipments in larger quantities too if you want. Definitely threaten to cancel, it comes with perks.
@tonysteeleebw013 жыл бұрын
First time hearing about the cancellation. I'm a year into the build and I would be very upset that I wasted money on this build.
@f3nderbender6143 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was a year into it myself but I refuse to waste money on a company that doesn't send you your boxes for months then when questioned about it they have no reasoning for why you're not getting them. Google the company, they have so BBB complaints it's a wonder they're still in business. I may have wasted money but I'm no longer wasting anymore on those dirtbags
