I gave up with Fanhome last week. They've been saying "shipping in June" on this build for months and as of last week still no update beyond "It'll ship in June". This was last week, July 11th to be exact. I've cancelled the preorder at this point, if they are that uncommunicative or even upfront about delays I'm not comfortable giving them money.

It's incredible watching you basically at the start of this build, while I'm waiting for the final pack to show up to finish it. Kinda wish I had spent more time working on aligning the panels and making sure they are all as flush as possible. Building on your statement of not worrying about which light is in which side, for those who don't know, as you get further into the build, you'll have circuit boards where some ports blink, others don't. As long as you don't put any of these lights into a blinking port, you'll be fine.

The way the LEDs get bent around to fit in, I’d be terrified about breaking one !

One of the others online builders came up with an interesting way to do the panels. He puts painters tape on the front, and that holds the windows in place until he is done.

Looking good Wayne. I'm waiting on pack 6 and just got an e-mail from Fanhome last week that the build will continue shortly. Lots of delays with this one, but I'm actually enjoying putting this one together. Light leaks are a concern, but seems like there are ways to reduce or eliminate those, just need more parts right now.

That thing looks like a bloody nightmare to build I think the 650 scale Enterprise D would be easier to build and a lot less parts. Good luck with it.

24:29 Hi mate, I am also building this beauty.... I am at stage 11.... ONE BIG TIP... DONT USE THOSE BATTERY BOXES...!!! I will use an EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY for the whole unit....believe me....😂😂 I've just looked an model builder here in Germany to its full play list and FINAL states here on KZbin.... 5 DIFFERENT BATTERY BOXES are needed.... no way.... I have engineered a GERMAN solution😂😂😂😂

Some of these 1:8 cars have massive metal sections. For plastic the Alien had some pretty big pieces

Have you been having issues with your shipments being extremely delayed? It took Fanhome nearly 6 months to get the 4th package in the mail. Whenever I contacted them, I was told that it's a warehouse issue and someone would contact me and I wouldn't hear from anyone after that.

Wayne, on the Lancia 037 build, is it optional to change out the replacement firewall and new steering piece? Or do you have to do it? I’m not worried about the steering tbh.

Hi Wayne. What are the particular electrical connections on this model name. As my battery box has practically self destructed ( as in metal plate inside battery box fallen out and connector come off due to repeated usage ). I'm currently on part issue 21. But seriously considering making this model again. But spraying it gold coloured with filling in the panel gaps.

The plugs are 4pin jst and the battery box is 2 pin jst.

You copy yourself a hell of a lot between issues on this build. Those panel gaps are a scale meter wide. The Enterprise NCC 1701-D must be made by Tesla.😂

I'll be honest. I feel buying into this model was a mistake. cant get the stuff I paid extra for. can't get replacement parts for a few of the damaged pieces. Never doing a subscription model ever again.

It's honestly sad you feel that way. While, yes, the turbulence we had on this has been nothing short of terrible, it should be noted that was an Eaglemoss specific problem. I think what happened is they threw too much money into too many licenses, and they couldn't deliver on any of them. Fanhome and Agora don't seem to be in that same boat. While I am disappointed that Fanhome took away the Millennium Falcon from the US subscribers, they at least don't overpromise and under deliver. So don't let the bad experience with Eaglemoss turn you off of what can be an amazing monthly hobby. There's plenty of other models from both Fanhome AND Agora that will not disappoint.

With fanhome you can always call them and explain what damaged parts you have and they'll send you replacement parts for free ive then that several time to the point that ive started feeling bad that I keep asking for replacement parts

@@michaelhazlitt7041 I have. tried to get a replacement battery pack as a test to see if I could before resubbing. and they just recommended starting again from the point that it came with. Not to mention the only way to get the mirror stand I was paying the extra money for was to start again. they did mention they might have something for it in the future. I was SOL unless I started from beginning again. seeing as I was three fourth of the way though, no thanks. If you enjoy it, good, enjoy it to your hearts content. But I'm never doing a subscription model ever again. less hassle doing a scratch built.
