I think this is a good explanation of aspects of playing 3-5-2 a 4-4-2. As for how and when the midfielder/left back moved into positions and what to do in transitions into both attack and defence I'm not too sure

Does the single inverted fullback work against a 4-3-3 or only against 2 pressing strikers?
