Another informative video, thanks. Regarding installing the last row of flooring, they make a tool that helps with that. I think that it is called a slap bar. It has a wide flat edge with a perpendicular lip that sits between the wall and the flooring. The other end has a place where you can hit it with a hammer. This makes it quite easy to pull the joints together. My father and I have used it numerous times to help with various types of wood flooring, as well as, laminate.

Jeff you’re my hero! First off brilliant job with this closet. Good idea Turing a small unused bedroom into a walk in closet. My one concern with that is have you down graded the house from a say 4 bedroom house to a 3 bedroom? That usually decreases resale value doesn’t it? I redid two regular double sliding door closets and a semi walk in closet with the prepackaged kits and they were anything but a time saver. I spent so much time cutting everything to length that it would have been faster and easier to do it your way. And I did make a couple mistakes measuring/cutting which brings me back to my first point. I can now show my wife that even a master contractor like Jeff can make a mistake measuring occasionally. Cheers!

Nice! I did something similar in my walk in closet years ago. I took ikea 1x4 kallax vertically and they are floating. Also a 2x4 kallax (with free extra supports from ikea) to get a neat surface to fold clothes and jewels boxes. one side with 2 poles for shirt and pants, another one for long coats,etc.. Im no carpenter but this one was easy since it can look custom but use cheap available parts. keep the great content coming and more with the church transformation!

Hello RenoVision Crew. So just to verify I understand this correctly … all the nail holes you filled with drywall joint compound, which I can understand and then you paint over it? Thats what I do not get. What paint works with melamine? That material is slick already so not sure how would you paint over it not to be very obvious. If I am missing something please advise. Looking to start veeeery similar closet reno asap. Overall great video to provide one with enough confidence to finish such a project with success. RenoVision classic I should say. Perfect every time! Thanks in advance and Happy New Year.

Hey Jeff, I just moved into a new rental and one of the two RG6 cable wall outlets doesn't work with my modem at all but the other one does. I can't identify any obvious problems with the cable that is inside the wall and the outlet plate does not appear to be the problem because I've swapped plates with the working outlet and still nothing. I was hoping you could help with some tips/tricks but if not that's alright too. By the way I love your content and I hope I remember to refer to your videos on KZbin if I can ever afford to buy a place of my own.

Also, would definitely use my Snitty (auto, architectural vinyl wrap cutting tool) to cut this wallpaper. You can get cheap ones (2 for $10 & under) or pricey ones (1 for $40+) and I’ve used many types and price points. Guess what, they all work and cut the vinyl, paper (CHRISTMAS WRAPPING PAPER, what use during holidays for wrapping and it’s a game changer must, imo) and on,y diff I’ve seen…. The cheaper ones use cheaper blades meaning gotta change sooner AND are made from plastic and break easier. More expensive ones usually combo metal/plastic/etc…and use higher grade blade (so they claim, but guess what, same blade that works in cheaper ones most likely will work in expensive; so don’t need to buy expensive refill blades, fyi) so don’t need to change very often. Is it true, imo, no….but, what do I know😀 ✌🏻

Do you think, (instead of sanding and redoing my hardwood floors), doing a high quality LVP in my home will decrease the value? I am in a big subdivision and the homes all have hardwood on the first floor. The whole first floor (about 1500 sq ft) is hardwood. The wood is good but the protection / urethane layer is worn out. The second floor and third floor are carpet. It needs to be replaced. I want to do lvp in the whole house (3500 sq ft) but I don’t know if I should replace the hardwood (cover it) with lvp because I’m scared it will depreciate the house.

The part with the vent on the floor would’ve taken me at least 3hrs

Like Elmer Fudd once said when hunting Wabbits: Be Veerry, Veerry Careful!! But let's be honest, Elmer never was careful enough. It seems Jeff was though. Most people will not get this post and those that do? WHOOP WHOOP!👍👍👍👍

I have a new construction home in Texas. Under my carpet is concrete. I had wood floors installed but they are glued in. Your way using nails looks much more appealing. What do I need to install over my concrete in order to lay my floor with the nails?

a subfloor system and plywood, but that is not very practical for you. Cheers!

Love your videos and tutorials. So how did you use or utilize the existing closet in the room? I've been wanting to do this with a spare room.

Are 18 guage brad nails really strong enough to build furniture? I'm headed to the store and want to know if its better to get a 16g finish nailer or a 18g gauge brad nailer

Great Video! Perfect timing. I’m planning on doing the same thing- convert a small bedroom into a walk in closet. However, have one question. I have baseboard instead of forced hot air. Any advice on getting around that? Thanks much in advance

Hi, we are planning to renovate our small kitchen with a limited budget. We don’t know where to start. Do we need to hire just the contructor , or an interior designer first. Or just go with the kitchen renovation company and let them do everything..

Where did the cabinetry come from? If someone wanted to add Tempur glass shelves for closet where could they get it?

Any tips for a 9 or 10ft ceiling? Should I just cut a small 1-2ft piece on top? Also what if you have metal studs? Do you need to use screws or can use pin nailer?

pin nailer works fine for metal studs. for tall ceilings build the 72" section and then a custom 2 shelf box for above.
