Continuing the upgrades on our 1968 Chevy C10 Shop Truck, we swapped the engine with a newer, more powerful Chevy Performance 350 crate motor that's pushing out 333hp! This engine was originally in the Jeep CJ but we figured it'd be more suited in the truck, which we use much more often. We cleaned it up after getting it muddy in the Jeep and gave it a new paintjob and valve covers to make it look brand new even though it has about 2000 miles on it. The truck has way more low end and passing power now, and you can cruise on the highway all day long. Thanks for watching and see you next time!

Beautiful job, it’s great to watch an engine swap that’s realistic instead of watching someone swap a 35k engine into a 50k car! I loved it…. And I’m actually trying to swap out my tired 350v8 with a crate 350v8 into my 71 c10! So it means all the more to me to see it on this level.

I actually bought the engine that was in this truck with the orange valve covers and put it in the Racecar that is in my profile picture. Every video on my channel is racing with this engine. Out of five outings we’ve had one win in my first year. It’s definitely stock, but it has been a good one so far! I plan to change the heads and cam then we will have a real fire breather. Saw the truck and shop in person, truly badass.

To be honest I would have slapped a blower on it, change the cam to accommodate that boost, and have more powa!

So, I understand that this isn't one of those big name KZbin channels (no offense intended), but I'm a diehard car guy and one thing that would've been really cool to see with this swap would've been to have gotten rid of the auto and did a Tremec T56 6 speed manual swap along with that 350 crate engine. I'm sure the auto will be fine (it's probably a turbo 350 trans), so it should hold up just fine, but it would've been really cool to see it with a 5 or 6 speed manual swap. I'm not trying to be negative about this, this 350 swap will make it much more fun to drive, I'm just voicing my opinion, but I'm always going to love the manual trans over an auto.

Awesome swap! I'm looking at getting a 71 F250 w/ 360fe when I get home! I have a question about the EFI swap you did, would you recommend going the full 9 yards and doing everything EFI swap with the msd distributor manifold etc etc? Or does the Holly sniper work well enough for daily driving and use? Many thanks guys! Keep up the awesome videos! I always look forward to your videos while I'm out here in deployment!

The EFI on its own should make a big difference and be a good fit for daily driving. We installed the EFI on the truck and drove it for a couple months before we did the MSD supporting upgrades. Thanks for watching and good luck on your build!

There is a reason to paint engines ANY light color. So you can see oil leaks ! Painting engines black is a mistake, but to each their own.

Did you notice how you guys didn't change the trans, tc or rear end? The gearing shouldn't change on the highway. And please for the love of God, make sure all of those positives are fused.

@@mrgmc6314 I agree. Rather b welding does crazy amount of fab work and finishes pretty much all of his projects. BBR has a lot of creative projects and they do great work and will start doing more fab work as they gain more tool, knowledge, skill, and time. They are still full time students and I am excited to see what they do when they have more time and good paying jobs to fund more tools and bigger projects.
