Hello and Welcome to another video from Thomas at BOAB models. Today we'll be building the Airfix 1/43 Starter Set Jaguar E type series 1. This kit comes with paints and glue but I use my own. I have built this kit as a replica of the car on display in the welcome gallery at the British Motor Museum.
Filmed at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire. The Jaguar E type is part of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust collection.

Fantastic build! Seems like a great kit for the scale and price point. Other 1/43 kits are often 2x or more expensive than the airfix one. Definitely on the pickup list.

Haha I wondered who would notice that! They were moulded into the windscreen so nothing I could do unless I removed them. Thanks!

Very nice build!! One minor thought...judging by the appearance of the bumpers I’m guessing you used the Molotow chrome pens. For a much more authentic chrome finish I’d suggest getting a Molotow refill and airbrushing the chrome (no need for black first btw...2 light wet coats will do fine, no thinning). Also be aware (you undoubtedly are) that the Molotow (and the other oil-based pens such as you used on the inside strips in the boot) only have a shelf life of about a year. After that they go light grey and eventually a charcoal grey. I’m speaking of the wet material in the refill or pen, not the cured paint on your model.

I like using Revell aqua but I've also had really good experiences with Vallejo model color.

Yes, I think revell aqua is good. You just need to thin it a little bit with water.
