PC, G27, Quest 2, lawn chair = Epic. After moving and setting up some old gear for a “temporary” set up while getting ready to set up the more solid/permanent rig I am reminded you don’t need much to have a great time.

I’ve just cleaned out my bank account pre-ordering the Flight Sim Pro Boeing Edition (July 2024 release). I hope I can assemble it as easily as you seem to have.

It's not hard and the instructions are super easy to follow. Did you use the discount?
@Snaerffer3 ай бұрын
@@WatchMysh no, I didn’t. Your video was published about seven months ago so I don’t know if it still worked. Also, I’m in Australia so I didn’t think it’d work here. All good … I’m super excited.

So you're telling me I could mount a FFB centre stick somehow, and quickly swap a sidestick on? And swap between a viper and hornet throttle? My god, this is temping
@WatchMysh5 ай бұрын
Yes, that's possible. You could buy some quick swap adapters and that's it. If you give in to your temptation check out my discount code on the description if you want. Saves you 5% and supports the channel. :)

These plastic cable straps, please fix them so that the sharp ends are faving inside and not outside- the usb hub will be in place, but less of a chance to cut your skin🎉
@WatchMysh11 ай бұрын
Good point! I'll fix that. For now it's okay because it's on the other side of the rig facing the wall. Nothing and no one ever walks past there.
@777ThibsАй бұрын
I had the sloppy weld issue as well. I doublestacked washers. This solution did not work for me, as my 300lb weight caused the caster socket to bend. I ended up swapping back to the square washer and tightening it as much as possible since the damage was already done.
@WatchMysh26 күн бұрын
Eh that sucks. Is it holding up?
@777Thibs26 күн бұрын
@@WatchMysh Yeah, it is. I will probably end up swapping out the castors at some point, because I hate these. Otherwise, I am happy with my rig.
@WatchMysh26 күн бұрын
@@777Thibs yes, they are mid at best. Should've mentioned that in my review. I'll also swap them out eventually.

If I were pressed to choose the flight seat or the stand which would you recommend?

Completely depends on the use case.

I got the flight stand pro only with out the chair due to my disabilites and I can't say how unhappy I am with it. The distance between the left and right hotas mounts is 40" and that is an uncomfortable stretch. And they advertise winwing mip system on their pics and adverts only for it to not actually go on there so currently thinking about returning it which is such a shame as it looks awesome

Hello, Thanks for the video, what is the minimum height for flight stand top plate ? can’t find this information anywhere, I always feel this stand will be high

The height of the flight board is around 64cm

Does the rig include the screws to mount the stick and throttle
@WatchMysh2 ай бұрын
For the throttle yes. I used some of the included bolts. For the stick's base I used the screws from WinWing.
@sfsrocketengineer24922 ай бұрын
@@WatchMysh so the screws don't come with the stick base?
@WatchMysh2 ай бұрын
@@sfsrocketengineer2492 They do. I mounted it with the same screws it's fixed onto the desk plate.

@@WatchMysh oh thx, I thought they needed longer screws since they said we need to prepare the screws ourselves on the manual. Anyways thx a lot

@@sfsrocketengineer2492 That's strange @ manual. I hope I remembered correctly but I'm quite sure... There have to be screws in the package to attach the desk plate. And I can't remember getting extra screws as I received the Orion2 kit and mounted it onto the rig.

Always use a flat washer when installing bolts through a slot. The rig seems over built and extra heavy. You bought the front, or maybe you didn't have any options to delete it since you're flying VR. You let so much shoddy workmanship slide. So thanks for the heads up; it is hardly worth the money.
@WatchMysh9 ай бұрын
Thanks! Glad the video helped you. I need the front for pedals and I'll install some more stuff later. What did I let slide?
@rwhunt999 ай бұрын
@@WatchMysh Thanks, i was wondering why you had that additional rig (in front) when you're doing VR. As far as letting things slide, , i was referring to al those poor quality issues that individually, you could let slide, but as they add up, there is a limit to what is acceptable. That said, you hi-lighted the bad clearly enough that it might force them to improve their quality control, as most are easily fixed.
@WatchMysh9 ай бұрын
@@rwhunt99 Oh, yes. Let me emphasize one thing: if I had a bought this rig as a normal consumer I would have handled things a little bit differently. I would have ordered a replacement of the right connector for example. I mean that's a solid metal sim rig and not some super sophisticated micro-electronic device. Quality control should be able to detect obvious problems like the monstrous welding seam for instance. I'd have this replaced, too. Good thing is NLR has the reputation to replace stuff without a lot of questions asked. Still it's very inconvenient for the customer... So Yeah AI hope they've improved their QA a bit.
@notreallydaedalus8 ай бұрын
Same observation, but with a different conclusion. It looks to me like they need to work on their QC process, but the important parts (design, materials) look great to me. The customer shouldn't have to modify anything to make it work, but a few applications of an angle grinder looks like all you need. Fixing these issues should be no problem for the manufacturer now that they've been identified. This video went up a month ago, I'd be shocked if it's not already resolved.
