The most impressive thing is that it looks very different from each angle you look at the building. When you look at it from the harbour bridge (from the north) it looks broad, straight and relatively conventional, however when you look at it from Darling Harbour (to the south of the building) it looks much more slender, and the curvature of the building looks a lot more dramatic. And then looking at it from the west you again get a different impression of the building. Looks fantastic.

@@MasterCivilEngineering Yes, from previous B1M vids, I believe it's close to double the price what could be built in the Middle East . . . for the same height or even higher. In fairness, Sydney developers do have to deal with multiple layers of bureaucracy, and material and labour costs are higher.

@@danceingdave3 That price given is in AUD. In comparison, prices for buildings in the middle east are in USD. But even then construction is still cheaper in the middle east due to low cost labour from other developping countries e.g. Pakistan.

I could just imagine a skyscraper using neo-gothic or hellenic architecture. Poland has a beautiful building called the Palace of Science and Culture. Modern European cities filled with buildings like these would look amazing

I had some free time in Sydney a few weeks ago & I decided I wanted to go look at the Harbour Bridge. I decided instead of using the navigation, I'd just drive into Sydney blindly & try to find it by guessing. I actually found it very easily actually lol, but at one stage I went under an old arch bridge & when I came out the other side I was right at the foot of this new skyscraper. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Maybe Im just biased because I love this country so much lol

I see this tower almost every day. It was really interesting watching it rise from the ground. Did you know that there are going to be two skyscrapers to the right of the crown building in the small gap between the 3 glass oval buildings and the crown buildings. The whole revamped area is going to be finished in 2024, complete with a park (annoyingly much smaller than we originally told before crown bought the land) a metro station, accommodation, dining, hotels, another medium-sized public park and public transport.

I was just driving towards the city on the eastern distributor today and saw this towering behemoth, which I knew nothing about, so it was quite a shock to see a building that seemed to eclipse the Centrepoint. And then I get home and see a video from B1M about it posted just a few hours later.

I'm from Sydney and was wondering when you were going to cover this. Such a good production quality of a video super impressed. Its a pretty unique building, they wanted to make it higher to compete with the highest buildings in the world but restricted to Sydneys maximum height laws In place for aviation safety.

Having seen the building it does stick out like a sore thumb amongst Sydney's other buildings. If anything it should have been a little shorter. With that said over time hopefully the beige skyline of Sydney is replaced and this building won't appear so contrasting. The other new building in the area like Commbank look great. Sydney is finally getting some modern architecture.

This was fascinating. The tower is so tall that it is visible from a surprising number of locations. When you drive through urban areas, there it is sticking up above all else. The tower was originally meant to be out in the water on an artificial island but the government pulled back approval for that just before construction began.

Tbh more credit should be given to the workers building the tower. The engineers and architects jobs were made slightly more difficult but the real impact was on the people who continued the in person work despite a pandemic going on.
