I know this might be a little boring. But I didn’t want to cut out any of the footage since I am hoping to help those of you who are trying to do something similar with a junkyard harness. Feel free to ask any questions here in the comments and I would be happy to try and help.

Thank you for not editing your footage and being very explanatory. I am doing a custom swap in an mr2 and have no way to physically reference where each plug goes on the harness. This video is the ONLY resource I have found online to help with that situation.

nice job on the video. I just finished up my harness and I wish I would have found this video earlier as there is not a lot of info on converting automatic harnesses for kswap.

Thanks! I could not find any info for the auto harness either. In general it was very hard to find any harness wiring information aside from VTEC Academy videos. Good luck on your swap!

Thanks for this video. The wiring aspects are scaring me while I plan for a CB7 k24 swap. Trying to save some money on the engine harness and this seems to be my best bet rather than dumping ~$500 on a custom harness. Then there is the chassis harness. One question - was it easy to pull that harness from the pick and pull? Does the car need to be on stands for any underneath work or can it all be accessed from the top? One pick a part that has more RSXs has zero stands while the cheaper yard further south has all the cars up on stands and prices are cheaper - but they rarely get RSXs in.
@e-dod Жыл бұрын
No stand required. It was pretty easy as far as pick and pull work goes. Although the car I got it from already had the ECU removed. Do they offer a conversion harness for CB7?

Merry Christmas!!! Man thanks for these vids. I’m an electronic tech and love Honda and have an 88 accord hatchback I’m trying to drop a k24a jdm motor into it. By mid Jan the engine will be in place so I can measure axles and have the engine where it needs to go. Once done with that I want to do the wiring myself. So your page will help. I might blow you up with questions. Lmk how to get a hold of you, if it’s cool.

Great video just don’t know about the grounding point on the intake you’ve used as you’ve a plastic thermal gasket this makes that a weak grounding point. As the ground from the intake grounds to the block and the block is then grounded with the earthing point on the timing chain side cover with the earth strap there. Ideally have that moved onto the valve cover so this completes the circuit so to speak. Just a thought, enjoyed the watch!

Glad you liked the video and that's a really good point! Never thought of that. I did have some noise in my batter voltage when data logging so I will try this out and see if it helps!

First of all, thank you very much for your videos, I have a couple of questions that I hope and you could help me, in this case what is the difference between a harness rsx type s and an rsx base model? Should the one of the rsx base also be 02-04? And would it work with k pro? Any update regarding the wiring that has been necessary and that is not in the video? Really thank you very much for your videos I'm in Mexico and here it's very expensive to do a k swap but this helps a lot
@e-dod Жыл бұрын
1. The base model 5-speed harness does not have reverse lockout. This is not necessary anyway. The base model automatic harness does not have reverse lockout or VSS connector so you have to add that (I cover that in this video). I also added reverse lights to the automatic harness. 2. You need a 02-04 harness for K-pro. You can also look into K-Tuner or Link ECU as other options that would not require a 02-04 harness. 3. The engine harness wiring I did in this video was all that was necessary to start the car. For the body harness I just needed to build a charge harness. Cool you are K swapping down in Mexico. What car you putting the K swap in? If you have any other questions I am happy to help.

I just strip back the whole thing and reroute it all/zip tie it all ...make sure its working....buy some cable tape n redo it all.Looks newer /neater/you get rid of stuff you dont need.People think it takes forever...nah 1 afternoon and 20 bux of tape.

yea some decent tape goes a long way. plus the old factory tape gets really nasty/sticky.

Hey bro I have a question my k24 swap starts and dies after a few seconds in leading to believe it’s the harness because I’ve already had to fix the map sensor wiring wasn’t getting power there wires were in wrong spots. Also no power to iat what you think?
@chefboiard54682 жыл бұрын
And every sensor is new on the motor I got them all for a 04 tsx
@e-dod2 жыл бұрын
Not having the IAT wouldn't cause it to die. Does it idle at all? Did you repin the crank sensor connector properly to work with the K24 crank sensor? Sounds like your on the right track checking the MAP sensor. I would check the other sensors as well. You can also verify your TPS is calibrated correct, if your using Hondata. Make sure it reads '0' when no pressure on pedal.

I have an 09 accoord and bought the wrong motor for a 03 what can I do to make crank sensor work I know it's on opposite sides as well help appreciated
@e-dod2 жыл бұрын
The '09 accord had a K24z correct? And not a K24a. I am not at all familiar with the K20z/K24z as it is not a popular swap option. But to have any chance of it working you can grab a connector from a K24a engine in the Junkyard. 03-06 Element/03-05 Accord and just splice it into your current harness. You would need to check factory service manual for 09 Accord to figure out what wire is signal/power/ground (assuming it is three wire like K24a engines). The thing is I am not sure if the sensor on the K24z engines works the same as the K24a so I am not sure if it will provide your ECU with the right signal. Comparing factory service manual troubleshooting between 03 & 09 Accord would probably help confirm this though.

Why did you not use the wiring loom that came with the k24?
@e-dod Жыл бұрын
I didn't get a full loom with the K24, it was cut. Also, K24 loom used drive by wire so there was no TPS or IAC wires.
