We started with surveying the property and staking the house, then stripping topsoil and digging the footing, then doing the block foundation, gravel backfill, and are ready to start framing. In Jamaica 🇯🇲 we use rebar in the blocks and fill all the pockets.....I've always find it amazing how America 🇺🇸 builds and charges so much......

Niko, I am so glad I found your video, I am learning much from it. To me it is better than HGTV. What is this black liquid that you rolled around the footing and the base of the bricks? What it is for?

Thanks so much for watching!! That is called damp proofing. We install it before we do the French drain on a traditional footing and block foundation. It helps keep moisture out and acts as a sealing membrane

Niko, I love what your doing and your go get it attitude lol. I’m a builder just about a hour and thirty min from you and have family all over chatt. I would like to come meet you one day but my question is are you using the blocks turned on their side to use for your crawlspace vents and if so what do you use to seal up or screen over them?

Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words!! Yeah the blocks turned sideways are laid like that so when we add the black screen vents on the outside, they run flush with the stone veneer!!
