@@FarisandLisaand for how much will you sell this house in let's say...... 5 years? I bet that if you get little over 300,000 you should be satisfied. I mean, cardboard, paper, wood sticks and glue? And all that for 550,000? God save you when a stronger wind comes or when the snow starts to melt and the floods come

These home builds reminds me of where I was just a few years ago, no savings, no IRA, nothing. I was really worried, thought owning a home was out of reach. But after three years of hard work and smart investing, I grew my savings to $350k and finally bought a home. If I can do it, anyone can. Graham David Fullerton was very helpful in making this dream a reality by investing towards a particular goal.

I went from having no money to invest, to working my butt off with Uber Eats for four months to save around $20k to start working with Graham David Fullerton. Now, I'm sitting at $128k, and I’m absolutely loving the progress, hoping to buy my first home soon. GLAD that you have to bring this up here.

For people who need land cleared: many companies will come harvest the trees you need cleared and pay you for your trees. Also, for homes using house wrap instead of insulated sheathing with taped seams, use a whole house sealing product like AeroBarrier. Seeing how the walls were stood on the floors and the penetraions in this build, they would benefit from a sealing method as this house will be very leaky as the wood dries, shrinks and settles.

More people need to do time lapse videos like this on longer projects, it was quite interesting being reminded of things you had to go through in the past that had slipped my mind. Very well done video, although I will admit to being at a total loss of how this channel only has 29k subs... one of the more interesting and informative channels I follow for sure. Keep at it guys, looking amazing.. P.S. - Okay I made the mistake of watching this video this morning while my wife was out shopping, so she insisted we watch again haha. her comments, your tile choices, floors and showers, etc, are amazing, she loves the farmhouse sink look.. and we both agreed at 541k for what you have had done to this point you are doing amazing. Keep at it... 👍

We love making these timelapses because it is so easy to forget all the work that has gone into this project! The stone project in particular cracks us up. Those were some hard days, but we made it! Ok I am totally siding with your wife on this one! I get so mad when Faris watches our shows without me. You're a trooper watching it twice, we appreciate you! I love that you two watch the series together, there are a few couples on KZbin we watch together so we can totally relate! Appreciate all your kind words with our selections, it's so easy to question yourself, but I love when the selections all come together and you can finally see your vision come to life.

@@FarisandLisa It's actually fun watching it twice, there are times I get to comment on what you are about to say. Then I get the evil eye and realize I best watch in peace for fear of spoiling any surprises... but I want to hahaha. Trust me you are always going to question choices, we have actually gone back and changed a couple of things we did the first time around. It's part of reno-life, sometimes we made a mistake, other times we just realize we don't really care for something we picked that at the time looked good. A few things you have done my wife has said, hmmm could we do something like that as well, so thanks very much for keeping me active and in the reno game 😉

The location and layout of the house are great. When I compare the timber frame construction methods in the USA with those here in Germany, it looks as if you are building with toothpicks or matchsticks. 😉 I particularly noticed this in the roof construction. I would assume that the thicknesses here are almost twice as thick. And the thickness of the insulation from the basement to the roof is also not comparable. It's really interesting to see how differently things are planned and built. But I'm sure you'll feel absolutely comfortable in your new home.

Thank you, we appreciate it!! We've been building this house for over a year now and it's been an incredible journey .The best part is being able to create these memories with each other and my dad, who has been helping us along the way. We are so happy to have all of these memories on film so we can look back at them and even show our kids one day. The hardest part is the time consumption, we are trying to do as much of the work as possible but we are not skilled trades which means it takes us a tad longer. We're currently newlyweds living in my rent's basement so we're pretty pumped to make the move. Overall it will all be worth it in the end :)

Build your own house on a budget they say: cost of their house, over half a MILLION dollars.🤣 I bet, though, that if they had done more of the work themselves (instead of hiring a crew), the cost would have been a lot less. And, I'm NOT hating. Just stating facts. I celebrate their new home and pray that they will be very happy living there. I hope to be able to do it one day myself. Cheers.
