Very nice work. It is about time for me to make one of these as a hope chest for my granddaughter.

Very nice. I love this style of chest. Only thing I will do differently is put a 5/8” round over on the top so it lines up with the front and sides. Take care

Really nice work, I'm thinking about trying to build a blanket box like this too. I'm debating whether to do the Moser-style or a more conventional drawer opening. As much as I like the continuous grain flush drawer, I kind of hate to make that wasted space on both sides of the drawer because you have to make the drawer around 3" narrower on each side. Maybe I could put some secret compartments in those spaces (don't tell anyone!) Anyway, great job and thanks for the build video!

Did you create plans or a 3d model before starting your beautiful build?

Great job, loved the Spalted maple drawer with the cherry front plate, nice surprise when u open the drawer on the eyes, imo. Not crazy about the door pulls. The price is whatever someone will pay but $300 is way too cheap, it’s a great looking chest and the craftsmanship outstanding, again imo.

Hi Jody. I saw your video about replicating the Thomas Moser Blanket Box. You did a beautiful job. I was wondering if you'd like to make a custom Blanket Box for me, with a few small changes from the Thomas Moser one. 20" tall X 24" wide X 16" deep. Thank you.

How do you like your Jointer/ Planer combo machine? The chest looks amazing
@jodyswoodworking5477 Жыл бұрын
I really like it a lot. Having a 12 inch jointer is a plus. The only thing I would change is getting the helical head versus the street knife.

The attention to detail and your personal design choices make a very nice chest. Just one thing, that center punch you used to position the hinge? It looks like a Vix Bit. That goes in your drill to center and pre drill then holes. Carry on.

Lovely build, I don't know if you intended to do a voiceover or what. But just barely hearing your voice but unable to really make it out over the music just had me mute the video. Turn down the music and turn up the voiceover in the future please :)

$5.000? I wouldn't pay that, unless it rolled in gold.

Moser is selling it now for $5,900 in cherry ($7,725 in walnut), plus $595 for shipping and any state sales tax. Almost $7,000 to ship it to me.
