I"d like to see Joe and Chuck hosting Horsepower TV again. They were so much better than today's hosts. The 572 HEMI is a real monster and a masterpiece of engineering, design, and assembly.

Although the Valves where being "TESTED", why was everything (except the Crank Bearings) installed "DRY"?... Even with testing, wear and damage can occur on dry surfaces.
@lcelord39412 жыл бұрын
it throws off measurements for the clearances because of the oil film I'm not sure why the cam and lifters were installed dry though

Loved watching all the fluid pouring out of the right side header during that first dyno run. Must have puked a head gasket or something else let go. Lol.
@MSWMSW1 Жыл бұрын
Naw. Thats overflow from the Dyno. When they shut the hemi down, the headers jump a bit. But that didn't effect the water; as it should have if it was coming from the header. Just a bad camera angle to film from.

It's important for newer cars and engine owners to remember where they started. Just like old music was the origin for new music! That's being respectful which is something that's being lost!

572 Hemi, aluminum heads, roller cam, huge roots blower. Hopes of 900hp ? Better be over 1000.

This was from 24-25 years ago genius. Tech has changed a bunch since then.

@faststang85 my friend built a 496 Big block chevy with a roots blower that ran on pump gas over 20yrs ago. It made over 1000hp. Forgive me if I still am not impressed. Genius.
@faststang896 ай бұрын
@@mitchellferre1652 😅😅 all depends on the combo. No one said it was impressive, only that 25 years tech to make 1000+ wasn't far and few between. This was an entertainment show. Joe who just died was a salesman not very mechanically inclined. The only one who probably knew anything was chuck. So i wouldn't expect record numbers from a tv show

@@Pink_hat_guy there is a reason why Mopar owns the drag NHRA. Theres a reason why you see hemi swaps in the other two brands 😂. Even enginemasters one of the guys that is hardcore Chevy guy even admits that Mopar is far better when it comes to performance at a drag or performance vehicle. I do agree that LS swaps are the bang for your buck and for street use daily. Hands down. Saying for the Chevy dudes. But just because the affordability and the power you can make with all the aftermarket support there is. But if I was gonna go all out definitely the Mopar block would be my choice. It's just expensive to build them. I like all of them tbh but the sound of the hemi can't be beat
