Could you use a ball of jute string instead of the hemp? I’ve also seed a boat built using Flax as the fibre.

yeah i think i might aswell buy a full built bamboo frame, cause i would be scared to ride something done like that honestly.

Don't you want the enjoyment of riding a bike made by your own two hands? 😉I think Dave is enjoying the process but riding it will be the real test, if we can do it then pretty much anyone can 👍

As the epoxy is just a bonding of the fibres, I was wondering if the fibres (the textile) are sufficiently strong.

It should be but we will find out when we get it painted, built up and out on the road

They have very similar young's modulus to fibre glass.

We are going to get it out on the road and Dave is going to race it, yes
