As someone even at 72 who still does everything by himself working, I appreciate seeing especially young people who can figure out how to complete jobs pretty much by themselves. Yes Molly helped some, but you did the heavy, high work. And done safely also. Nice big shop.

Looks like a neat project. And it is good to have lift(s) to help with the work. I may be a little late to the game,,, but perhaps you can get those crooked purlins to straighten out by adding a 2x4 down the length of the purlin, forming a Tee. In the meantime, keep on doing good work & work safely!

I had a friend of mine who lives in Rose Oklahoma by one of those angle iron truss buildings to make a turkey house if I remember correctly it was 40 feet wide and 600 feet long. He bought the building from the company and had them erect it. With the first snowstorm that came through it came crashing down he called me to bring my welder, and come and help him of course I was there the next morning. As we were cleaning up the wreckage we noticed that none of the trusses were bent, but the plates in the middle where the trust halves were bolted together had just been tack welded and never completed.

There will be roughly 12” of fill brought in for the slab and the slab footing will be poured all the way down to this concrete so that it will be one.

The whole point of climbing down is because I can’t lower the lift. The truss is strapped to the lift and the truss is on top of the posts. If I could lower the lift then I’d just lower it to the ground.
