Thanks Jim! I really appreciate, but the credit is far from mine. It takes an amazing team of hard working volunteers to make VK what it is.

Its closed now as most of the state, but definitely a great place to visit. Come ride Markham and Virginia Key and make a day of it.

I don’t know if you remember, I left a comment a couple of weeks ago in regards to getting back to MTBing after a 6 year hiatus and liking your VK videos. I did ride for the first time in 6 years. I went to VK this past Saturday morning. There was a race this weekend. My question is, Why and where is the reasoning behind closing some of the trails? Why not just do the whole park? Is the route designed for some parts to make it easier to pass, since it’s all mostly single track, or consideration of distance since it’s more than one lap? Can you shed some light into this ? Thanks?
@BlindstuffMTB3 жыл бұрын
Happy to hear you made it out to VK. You didn't choose a great day to go haha, when there's races the trail gets modified in routing so there's more space to pass and to make it "different" than usual. Races usually remove all the stuff where riders could get stuck on, XC racing is about speed, not so much tech. During races the trail is routed in a mostly easy way. Come back any other day and you'll get to ride everything.

@@BlindstuffMTB thanks for your prompt reply. I went with my old 2007 Rocky Mountain Instinct 70 26’er. Bought the frame back in ‘07 and built it from the ground up. Couldn’t believe how many 26’ers are still out there. Trying to get a new Santa Cruz Tallboy in the summer. All sold out for 2021 anyways. Sucks!
@BlindstuffMTB3 жыл бұрын
@@vrudy6 everything is sold out everywhere. It's crazy. That tallboy is awesome, was on my short list for the last bike I bought

Probably the jeffsy 29. I also got my hands on the new Norco optic to ride a few times and was absolutely blown away by it. May be an option
