Based on a question in the comments, I want to clarify that the membership for the Virginia Key Bike Club is yearly. If you're interested in purchasing one to help out the trails, you can do so here: vkbctrails.com/index.php/membership/

Stefano. I totally loved this video. I joined VKBC after seeing your video. Well deserved and glad I could contribute a bit, especially since earlier in the day I'd taken a few runs through the park and discovered the wooden roller coaster, Another One Bites The Dust. What fun! Thank you, VKBC, Frenchie, et. al.

I'm still not sure its an official line, but if there's one place where it'd be at home its in Florida lol.

Its great when non traditional market like is FL is enthusiasts invested to unique trail! Love the fact they painted trail with blue contrasty and grippy stuff, for sure in humid environment it was very smart decision, love it, thank you for sharing V!

On the very first day the Dust was open it was raining. I watched closely and I didn't see one person lose traction or slip off their line at all. The non skid paint works really well even at those downhill speeds transitioning into the climbs. Very little pedaling is needed on the climbs if any. Just lay off the breaks and you get sent upward.

FL has great building due to the fact that the base terrain isn't all that amazing. Its a unique style of riding, but its a lot of fun.

I live in Lakeland, Fl. Real close to some really great trails, Carter Rd, Alafia, and Balm Boyette. But I must say Virginia Key looks like a great place to ride. Quite impressed with the crews that contribute to building such awesome trails.

Wow on so many levels! One, this video really showcases the evolution of your riding from the early days when you were on your Giant. You ride so much faster, confident and aggressive. I say this one shows you off more than the other videos you've done out west because you don't have a lot of gravity helping you out here, because FLORIDA. You gotta earn your speed here. Two, this video really is a love letter to VK, particularly the last few minutes after you left "Another One Bites the Dust" and it's just you riding and riding. I haven't been to VK in a long while, looks like I need to head back soon. Really enjoyed this one. That Jeffsy is holding up well huh?!
@BlindstuffMTB5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much man! Really appreciate the kind words. I think it also really helped to get a buddy to help film some 3rd person shots. Everything looks much easier from the GoPro lol. Those trips to other places really help get loose and build confidence that then translates well back to FL, but yes, you're absolutely right, we have no choice but to pedal hard haha! Still loving the Jeffsy, pretty sure my next bike will just be the new version.

Those trails are really awesome. They're about 6 levels above my riding level tho. Bike parks are cool, I tend to stick to trails around bike parks instead cause they're more natural/longer. But this was a fun watch.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Just a matter of practice. Spend enough time on the bike and you can ride whatever you feel like it. A few years ago this seemed impossible to me.

What advise you give to a starter rookie. Got a decent bike to start and still trying to master the trails at Amelia. Looking to jump on this one soon but looks a bit tougher than Amelia. By rookie rider I mean I’ve ridden only 3 times and got the bike 2 weeks ago.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Ride, ride, ride. There's no replacement for just spending time on the bike. VK is definitely harder than Amelia, but nothing is mandatory, you can always do the trails you feel comfortable with and skip the others. Welcome to the sport.

Great vid. I am an advance blue trail rider. If I only had one afternoon to ride in Miami, between Markham and Vk, what would be the best trail?
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the delay. They're both awesome, Markham is more technical, VK is more flowy.

How do you get into this sport. What bike should I get that won’t brake the bank but will get me going.
@BlindstuffMTB3 жыл бұрын
Given the video you commented on, I assume your local to South Florida. If so, your easiest bet is to come to Virginia Key and rent a bike from the VKOC. If you're looking to buy you have to start thinking about budget a little bit more, a good hardtail is likely to be the best option if you want something new. If you're ok with going used, you can get more for your money, but you have to look out for the shape the bike is in. If you want, message me on IG and I can guide you a bit more.

I hate how XC focused VK is honestly. It needs a jump line, and the rocky terrain just makes it so much more tiring than it has to be.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Have you ridden the new jumps in stairway to heaven or the ones in long and winding road? A new jumpline is coming soon too, come out and help build. What rocky terrain?
@skatetheglobe5 жыл бұрын
Sucks to spend all that money to build something that isn't rideable for everyone. Not sure why they would build it with some sections that are wide and others that aren't. As adaptive mountain bikers, we aren't asking to remake every trail but if you're gonna build new ones at least make them wide enough for everyone to use. Sure does look fun though
@BlindstuffMTB5 жыл бұрын
I have to admit I have very minimal knowledge on adaptive mountain biking. At VK we have a route that covers only adaptive trails, however, it doesn't include them all. The entrance to this trail is already on a trail that can't be accesed on an adaptive bike; I don't make these kinda choice, but I assume that the club decided to not go as wide as needed since access was already a no-go. I will make sure to voice your opinion next time I'm there so we take these things into consideration. Thanks so much for letting us know of the oversight.
