Useful tip. If a meteor storm starts happening and you don't care for it, just save, quit and reload and the storm will disappear along with the meteor bits.

Heya Beerman! Great base redesign. Love the timelapse disassembly montage. I have a similar square design with large habitat modules on the corners. Central command with all the screens is, well, at the center of the base where all corridors intersect. The corners have the mess hall/food, my 2nd level quarters with great views of the lake and redundant infoscreens, the biolab and bio storage, and the manufacturing/crafting room and storage. With signage, of course, because I also tend to get lost LOL. I settled just north of what becomes the lake, and my launch platform is north between the lake and the wreck just south of the Labyrinth Canyons to the north. Like others have suggested, I'd recommend putting your launch platform near your base, west of your current position and north of the lake where it's flat and clear. And yes, falling through the floor when we put down a glass floor is a thing. We are very close in progression in the game. I was having major deja vu with the new blueprints you received during the video. Looking forward to more episodes! Onwards and upwards!

I used to put the rocket platform North of the ring, but that area has changed. I have put it North in the desert, might still work. But this save I put it north side of the large first lake, Center. Get most of the stuff. Thx for sharing Cool Base

I did have a good time, LOL. great video, new base looks great. Place for a launch platform, in the desert between the maze and the big ship, its pretty open, without a lot of clutter. Also I did a start in the icy plains and it is pretty open as well for the launch platform

It seems there's plenty of flat space nearby to build the launch site. Why go for such a long trip?
