i honestly just love how this channel has convinced me to get a GBBR. One because its more realistic than the AEG model i was gonna get (i was planning on getting an xm177 AEG but landed with the GBBR VFC M733 and its awesome for the larp). Two because the m733 i got was the first airsoft gun to work properly. And thats very suprising since i have burned upwards of $700 on AEG's with all of them not working after the first mag strait out of the box. Three the m733 is more like an AR styled gun so i can have my dad sometimes help me with stuff on it because he was in the military and his prime for the military was when the m733 and m723 was the best gun for spec ops ( He was SOAR so he worked with CAG and all the cool dudes). So thank you soooooo much Explosive Enterprises for helping me maintain the awesome m733 because this gun will go a long ways for me i think.

Your final assessment of the VT rifles brings a smile to my face. I bought a 2011 model M4A1 around 2012/13 when I was stationed at Fort Campbell. My roommate and I were regulars at the local fields and must've spent half of our monthly pay on GBB airsoft guns- simply just to find reliable/serviceable ones. I started with a KJW M4. V1. Worked flawlessly. Hated the giant thermold looking magazines that were about 50 pounds each, but they never leaked and were the only gas mag I ever used that could live up to the "two full loads of bbs per gas charge" claim. Finally died when the "rubber band" on the nozzle assembly snapped. Couldn't source a replacement. KJW M4A1 V2. No more rubber band. Had a more delicate looking BCG/nozzle assembly with a hokey guide rod. Worked fairly well in terms of shooting but had chronic bolt catch issues. Cleaned out several hardware store spring bins to resolve the issue, by which time the nozzle cracked and....couldn't source a replacement. The V1 nozzle was a different type and couldn't be used for a repair. VFC M4A1- right when they came out. I'm hoping the design has improved in the last decade. Felt way too light and cheap, but shot well when it worked. Had endless bolt catch issues. Eventually just disabled the bolt catch and counted my rounds as best I could. Barely used it in games, just endlessly tinkered with it in my barracks room trying to get it to function reliably. Finally got it to work well and decided to field it. Right at the end of the day, about to smile and proclaim that I had made it work reliably- the bolt carrier exploded. No exaggeration. Exploded. Zinc shrapnel stuck in the plywood of the wall next to me. Cracked the upper receiver right behind the slip ring. Finished the round with my sidearm with the remains of my rifle slung. WE HK416- Felt great but shot high, mags leaked faster than you could use them. Ended up selling it to a guy who was looking for one. Made him a good deal due to the leaks. GHK PDW- the M4 wasn't out yet so I settled for this. What a lovely little gun. Had to solve tons of rattles and a crooked stock but it always shot well and never failed me. The spring loaded aluminum faux short stroke pistons made a perfect "pink, pink, pink" noise every time the bolt returned to battery. The magazines leaked, had sharp edges at the top and as you mentioned- the protruding gas valve plunger that would consistently catch on a magazine pouch and blow off at the worst times. They rusted if they weren't constantly wiped down with oil. That's when I finally splurged on the Viper Tech and I have never held it to the same mental standard as an "airsoft gun". This was at the exact same time I was using my issued M4 almost daily, so the feeling of cheap pot metal WE or the flimsy VFC or the too glossy/gun-too-light magazine-too-heavy feel of the KJW's really just wouldn't cut it. It feels 99% like a real firearm. Has almost complete parts compatibility with real AR parts and has the most substantial recoil impulse of any GBBR I've ever used. Only giveaway is cycling the bolt- but its a compromise I'll take if it means I don't have to carry a sewing machine with a 400 round magazine. So glad you covered this as I have a plethora of GHK and old VFC magazines littering boxes in my storage unit to try out. Fun fact regarding the hammer pin breakage- real steel KNS antirotational pins work perfectly without modification- or just use real steel pins if you're not into the snazz factor.
@ExplosiveEnterprises
@ExplosiveEnterprises Жыл бұрын
The issue you'll run into with real steel pins on modern VTs is that the VTs have an offset lock ring to secure the hammer pin, with a corresponding offset groove on the pin itself. The real pins have this groove in the middle, so while they'll fit, they won't be properly retained. Anti-rotation pins will work just fine though so that is an option.

I love the new recessed VFC valves, especially on the FAL, the slightly older PSG-1 mags with the extended striker bar have a habit of dumping their gas into my fast mag pouches if I'm not very conscious of how I reindex them. Doing the lord's work as always guys 🍻

I can confirm ghk mk12 20 round mags work without modification. It is a tight fit, and they need a good slap to insert a loaded mag on a closed bolt (loading full ghk mags into ghk guns should be avoided, so presume the same rule applies here), but they feed and lock as they should. I imagine some filing would loosen the fit without any effects to operation

Great video, definitely gonna try some VFC mags for mine. I do have a real lower on mine so mags has always been experimental as they often sit too low for the valve to reach the nozzle. But a little JB weld mod of material in the mag catch hole of the mag should resolve it. VT mags are just too expensive to keep cutting hehe.

If you can get your hands on an ESD ER-15, I highly recommend one. 7075 forged real spec upper and lower, takes VFC spec internals and mags out of the box.

Awesome info in this video thank you for making an adjustable valve for this system! From what I’ve noticed most people running VTs are doing so above 1 joule. How well does the VT run at < 1 joule? Is the stock hop up effective at applying hop with those lower pressures?

I think I watched all your videos and gbbr is really impressive when you talk about this equipment. However, I wonder about the power and range of such toys. I live in Poland, our outdoor spots have a power limit of 1.9Joules for assault rifles (full auto) My top AEGs have an effective range of 230-260ft using 0.4g BBs at the mentioned 1.7-1.9J. Is there any chance that some GBBR will work within these limits? Regards.

7:40 what's that mesh stuffed inside of that magazine?
@ExplosiveEnterprises
@ExplosiveEnterprises Жыл бұрын
EB-Tech magazines come with it. We believe it's intended to reduce siphoning by giving liquid propane something to cling to.
@thisisbadstuff
@thisisbadstuff Жыл бұрын
@@ExplosiveEnterprises would you say it works? It's something I might try then. I'm on the VFC system and I find that if I fill my VFC magazines for more than around 6 seconds it's spitting out liquid gas. Shame the Western Arms design didn't catch on. Those can even be fired upside down.
@ExplosiveEnterprises
@ExplosiveEnterprises Жыл бұрын
@@thisisbadstuff It seems to work, though at the cost of reduced volumetric capacity. We've also heard of people stuffing steel wool in magazines to achieve the same effect. Siphoning is primarily a result of over-filling, though, so controlling how much the mags are filled is the best way to avoid it. In the VTs at least, with the mags filled to 22g or less we don't see any siphoning.

If Viper Tech plans on being a business in the foreseeable future they need to switch over to the VFC V3 GBBR system. With offering from both DnA & ESD that offer the same build quality but run the reliable V3 system I’m not sure why Viper Tech running the old WA system would be attractive given the price point and availability of magazines.
