@@Jake-jx7hs not really pointless. The end result is a lot better for the environment as it was shown in the video, its also a lot sturdier. Yeah maybe not using power tools was pointless, but it brings us back to the older way of doing things, where more skill, precision, and closeness to the build was required. You also feel closer to the end result, after toiling over it for a long period of time, and its something that viewers enjoy seeing, so it brings up the views as well.

One of the thing that's beautiful about you channel is the originality. Keep doing the woodworking stuff. It would be helpful as a fellow trail builder to see how wood features can be built on public lands that last a long time with little maintenance. I run in to this problem a lot with land managers.

When cutting branches like the please please please do a small bottom cut first so you don't peal the bark like that. It takes a tree a long time to scar over the type of cut you guys did.

Hey! Totally understand! And I almost always do this but our ladder wasnt long enough so we were having to juggle hugging the tree and cutting so getting to the underside was a reeeeal pain in the booty! I guess in hindsight we could have move the ladder, cut the notch, and moved it back but live and learn ay!

I'm a huge fan of handtool woodworking. Estate sales, flea markets, and antique stores are all good places to look for handtools, and Paul Sellers and Wood by Wright are two excellent youtube channels, although it's generally moreso furniture making that they do.

I vote yes, more, please. I was amazed how all this stuff went together without power tools. And no dead tree! I often thought trail builders should plant as many trees as they cut down. In fact if you choose fruit and nut trees, and plant them along the trail then years later riders can enjoy natural snacks as they ride by!

That being said this is by far the coolest feature ive seen built in any of the bike channels over the past 9 months. this video is so good it literally calmed me down. I have a motorcycle and the gas cap needs to be replaced cause it's leaking gasoline but smart-ass me decided to try and fix the thing instead of leaving it be until I get a replacement. As I was parting it out I lost a piece in the grass and tried searching for it for hours with no luck. Came here watched this video and my frustration faded away for some reason. So thanks :)
