Thanks mate. I needed a permanent nice place to store my chainsaw and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. Voila a crate made with fence palings and some other bits and pieces.

Hey Mario, totally agree re useful projects! I was planning on the tray having markers to tell me which blades were sharp etc and under the lid have some specs printed or etched to tell me the chain type, length and whatnot, and ratios of fuel to oil for a range of quantities (I always forget 😫) ... but ... I'll probably never do any of that now :). Cheers Mate - have a good one.

Judging by the shadow of your walky mount not only do we share the same Makita tools, we also have the same phone-camera setup 😁 I thought the chain box was cool, not matter what it looks like, it's just a practical storage solution.

Nice build mate, my wife bought me a chainsaw box for my birthday some years ago and it’s turned out to be so handy to have somewhere for the chainsaw and it’s accompanying bits to live, if I am going out to cut wood I just have to grab one box, easy as 👌👌👌👍👍
@TakamiWoodshop
@TakamiWoodshop 3 жыл бұрын
Gotta say mate that's a freakin' awesome birthday present! Yep -- all the bits all in one place - I'm lovin' it already. It also ended up being a good chance to chuck out all the old bottles of bar oil etc that had none left and just tidy up in general. Cheers Graham mate 🤙

@TakamiWoodshop
@TakamiWoodshop 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Vic, everything got displaced over the past year or so with some rearrangements so it was high time I sorted something out. I'm loving having it all together already. I have two more chainsaws still hanging around in random places so I'll have to pull finger and get them sorted as well. But this is my best and favourite saw so it always gets special treatment. Cheers for hosting the challenge btw!

Mate, love the calendar pose at 0:37 and I also like your clever firewood storage system, I might have to try that out for my winter storage. Keep up the great work Rob!
@TakamiWoodshop
@TakamiWoodshop 3 жыл бұрын
That pose is my favourite one too!. Been trying all this time to weave it into one of my videos [grin] cheers mate. I put boards on the front of my woodshed to stop wood falling out from the top which is quite high as the whole thing is up on a retaining wall. So it was a safety measure at first but added bonus is you can fit a shitload more wood in there and, it looks better .. win-win!

Nothing wrong with the chain tray, mate. If it works and does the job, it's good enough. 👌🏽 Great job, man, with a practical application 👍🏽 Some drilled out dowel threaded on to the rope handles might give your hands a bit of relief, considering the weight? Just a thought...
@TakamiWoodshop
@TakamiWoodshop 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Bill, yeah the tray is functional, that's the main thing! Good idea about the dowel! A mate suggested pipe but I thought it might eat away at the rope, but dowell wouldn't, and I even have some that would work. Thanks mate 👍🏻👍🏻

hehe good question - I put up a new shelf for it in the garage for it but it was too heavy to lift up with all the petrol etc in there so now it lives in front of my table saw. Not what I planned but it ended up being a good out of the way place for it. Planning a new garden shed at some point though. 👍

Great point! Feck me you just made me laugh 🤣. The operative word in what you said just now was "bother". I can't be bothered, but the biggest hassle about it is the space that I (don't) have, and how long the track is. I have to step up over around and under everything as it is, with the track and some riser blocks or whatever in the way it just get really annoying.
