Do not take copper fittings because, Aluminum in combination with electrochemically "nobler" metals (iron, copper, brass, bronze) with the simultaneous action of moisture, forms a contact element in which aluminum (your intercooler) is attacked (contact corrosion). Greetings from Germany

I meant to say brass fittings. Woops.

I'll also coat the inside of the fittings to keep the corrosion at bay.

Your progress looks good, small details take time. A small suggestion, those screw clamps on hoses look bad and generally chew up the hose surface. Look up "fuel injection clamps" and you will see a better style of smooth surface clamp. They are available in many sizes, clamp evenly, and don't damage the hose. They can be used for most of your air, fuel, and water connections. Yes they do cost more but they (and the hoses) last longer.

@omahamannings98996 жыл бұрын
Is this rwd? Because cleetus has a 2 wheel dyno i believe.
@isogamer126 жыл бұрын
tv92taylor would that not skew results? An engine running a rwd drivetrain and an engine running a awd drivetrain will have different hp conversion rates and drivetrain hp loss. He’ll get higher #’s on a rwd setup
@MV606 жыл бұрын
If they're just tuning it it shouldn't matter. What will matter is the axle shafts not being strong enough to take the whole load on just the rears. There's a potential for an "I broke my cheap lambo on the dyno video".
@isogamer126 жыл бұрын
MV60 guaranteed will make lower hp on a awd setup rather than just running the rears. The car will lose so much hp from the drivetrain now going to the front that his dyno results (hp/tq) will be inaccurate
@ryanhard52736 жыл бұрын
IsoHD So? Dynos are for tuning, not for wanking about numbers
@MV606 жыл бұрын
Like Ryan said, it's about the tuning. The problem about the power is if they only run it all through the rear axles, they are not designed to take the whole load on their own, let alone above factory spec. He'll either break them, get very lucky or plan ahead and buy upgraded ones.

You should be able to pump a jumper on one of the A/C plugs that will keep it on all the time(when it's switched to the on position in the car). With my old work truck I pump a paper clip in the plug to jump it and now the A/C stays on 100% of the time no matter how much throttle I'm giving it. Prior to doing that it would only go to about 75% throttle before kicking off.

You should be able to control the behavior of the A/C compressor using your ECU? From the factory they generally disengage at WOT to reduce parasitic load but you should be able to change that if you want. It would be good to see dyno results of colder charge temps vs reduced parasitic load. Particularly if your plan is to run a half mile at WOT where heat would be more of a concern than just pinning it through the first couple of gears on the road.

Two points worth considerin: 1) The inlet/outlet area for the rad does not have to be complimentary to the actual rad area - look at 1950's/60's formula race cars to prove how effective small inlets sizes are. 2) I would close the gap between the rad top and the internal cross member to ensure that the air is as less turbulent as possible. However, dumping all the air through the rad, down and underneath the car will reduce the downforce, which above 100mph may destabilise the car and at 200mph.......................

For fittings you need to go to company that sells hydraulic fittings and lines. In the MD, DC, VA area it is Colliflower Hydraulics. They can get you just about any line or fitting you need. Much better than Home Depot, or Autozone. I'm sure they have something similar in FLA. Good luck.

Your air to water intercooler will have a high thermal mass. That means that you will be up to 100mph long before it gets warm. If you intend to run it hard on the track, then your intercooler radiator will help to cool it back down. However, on the street you could easily get away with your killer chiller or even just let the intake air cool it back down in between launches. Can't wait to see it on the road - drive carefully.
@matts.83426 жыл бұрын
I don't know anything about air to water inter-coolers but I do know that at least on PC water cooling you are not supposed to mix aluminum and copper. You will get something called galvanic corrosion which will eventually eat a hole in your system spewing water everywhere. In fact you shouldn't mix any metals in a cooling system at all.
@alvin6 жыл бұрын
@tavarish, at this point it seems you keep digging into more and more problems. You probably cannot asses the extent of the fire damage/ and shotty workmanship(from the turbo installation) in the current configuration you have going. To really get to the root of the problems in my opinion: you should just pull out the entire engine assembly; clean/ repaint the engine housing; take out and rewire all the harnesses; inspect the engine as a whole and re insert the engine back into the car. I’m assuming that’s how Lamborghini would have done it.
@mariodesmo6 жыл бұрын
