I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This is my last upload for the year, but I’ll return early January jumping back on the Escalade. I also forgot to add the merge pipe into my final tally for the exhaust cost. So the final cost for me came to 287.00 instead of 207.00. See ya soon!

Glad your making more videos. Got worried you were no longer making any. Watching your channel has had a major influence on me in getting a 78 Firebird this past summer. I have a 98 TA and it's 90% done with it so why not start another one.

I am 100% with you on putting a cat on it. I can't stand that stink day in day out. For the power difference its not worth it. Its not ever been a power diff I could personally feel on the 4 or 5 I have done. Plus it gives them a much more mellow tone that will still sound really good. Anywayszz, excellent choice brotherms

Fantastic!!!! I am building my ‘89 GTA in a similar fashion and could REALLY use some help/advice with one thing: I am using a LS2 with a 6l90 and am wondering what I’m going to do about a transmission controller. I really want to make sure I have manual control available for paddle shifters and a gear indicator display. I haven’t made any decisions yet as far as PCM/TCM and harness yet…. This part is driving me crazy! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
@lsxmatt10 ай бұрын
Have you looked into Holley? I think they have a terminator system that can control the 6 speeds now.
@JasonMcCord-qk3yb10 ай бұрын
I will definitely look into it now! Thank you, Matt! You are planning on using paddle shifters, aren’t you? What is your plan to make them work? Or do you not want to give that away just yet? Either way, have a Merry Christmas!🎄

What part of the tune makes it where the throttle comes down quicker? I thought it was just a reaction from drive by wire.
@lsxmatt10 ай бұрын
The ls stuff has throttle follower adjustments to fix that, I’m assuming the gen 5’s are probably the same.

Nice! Ways away still, but I've been watching as much LS swappage as possible on 3rd gen Firebirds. (itchin to do my own now!) Seen a Gen 2 TA LS swap video yesterday & it got me thinking. Would it be easier to LS swap a 74 to 76 Trans Am then a Gen 3? (my fav years) I would assume it would be less work, as there would be Much less electrical & wiring harness fiasco on a 2nd Gen then a 3rd. (probably cheaper too) & it seems theres cheaper Gen 2s around us then Gen 3s (north east Pa as I caught the Harry's mention haha) Going to look up some Gen 2 swaps now for more education but still asking.
@fatbastardwithabeard10 ай бұрын
The gen II 70-81 f-body is indeed an easier swap exactly for the reasons you mentioned. The biggest drawback is the gen III fuel tank is already set up for fuel injection, the gen II isn't. Don't cheap out and try an external pump. Figure out how to get it into the fuel tank. Tanks, Inc has solutions.
@Chronno8110 ай бұрын
@@fatbastardwithabeard ty sir. Ya I won't be half assing anything. Still a ways away and been working on mostly older motorcycles for the past decade+, but the itch to do to an LS swap and refresh an old Firebird instead of motorcycles is in full throttle.

@lsxmatt10 ай бұрын
Exhaust doesn’t smell super rich like my Camaro so it seems to be. Probably not effective enough to pass smog though.
@aldoortega217010 ай бұрын
Lots of work there…… to my understanding and thinking…. Shouldn’t the cat be as close to the headers/ manifolds as possible?
@Chopski6410 ай бұрын

Just during the warm up it didn’t smell bad at all. I’m assuming once it’s on the road and really up to temp it should be even better. As of right now definitely way better than my camaro.

@lsxmatt10 ай бұрын
It seems to be ok, just takes a little longer to warm up. Exhaust doesn’t burn the eyes like my Camaro so it’s definitely working in that aspect. Probably not effective enough to pass smog but this car doesn’t need to.
