Why am I seeing this now? Well, the providence of God. This was timely and God-sent. Am in charge of the media team here at church, and I must say I can relate with everything that you have said. Still RELEVANT!

Delegating is essential in leadership. One of the hardest things I've done in leadership is delegating a task to someone and then seeing poor results. The way that's handled can reveal a lot about how you lead.

I discovered this video just now even if I follow your channel for a while and it's really funny because now in the beginning of the year I was thinking to delegate the social media service and I really needed this encouragement that it's possible! Thank you guys!

Yes this is great! this was for me! Gotta get the procedures in place so that other people can jump in! The task of teaching someone seems so daunting but I've been thinking about how important it is to have! And yes it's sooooooo "scary" to trust someone else with what you've been doing, the "right" way, for so long.

Passing the torch is fundamental to building the Kingdom. Unless the Lord returns soon, the probability is that you won't be Poohbah forever. Having the SOP on hand also.means that training the next trainee when your current protégé needs to move on is already a done deal.

Like button: smashed! I fall into all of these misconceptions and categories. I've got a media team of 4 other people, but keep putting off letting them do things on their own. "You can push the space bar in ProPresenter, but I'm putting everything together" "You can practice on the sound board, but you don't have the experience yet to run a Sunday service" I'm committing (in a semi public place) right now to getting everything down in writing that they need to know and kicking my baby birds out of the nest to watch them fly... with only minimal wincing.

These are so great! Do you have any more specific advice on how to start adding people to your team? Example--we have a fairly good handle on social at the moment (still learning though!) but I am starting an actual team now. I have someone scheduling our posts already and a 1-2 people taking photos on Sunday morning but I have NO IDEA where to go from here. I have about 8 people who want to be on the team but have zero clues as to what tasks to give them. They dont have access to any design software so that part i don't think is an option? HELP PLEASE!!

Amazing video; simple and to the point with lots of context!! I'm wondering if you have an resources on building SOP's? I help out with a missionary school, I'm definitely just beginning to learn but I have someone else who just joined me and I'd love to provide as best feedback and direction as I can!

I have a church media team of volunteers and i am wondering how to make them have a sense of belonging and also how to make them know that they are serving God and not man.

How do I find the person. We need a person to run live stream on Sunday and no one is showing any interest or am I not making it obvious that we need help?

My problem is, how do you delegate tasks to volunteers that you can’t be in the office with? In the Summer I have two high school interns who are amazing and have come a long way, but once Summer is over... they go back to school, our adults work from 9-5, and unfortunately we don’t have any college students who are interested in learning graphic design and video editing... I would LOVE to hire a part time creative, but I always get told it’s not in the budget... The only solution I can think of is having a volunteer create content from home using Dropbox as our workspace, and I could send KZbin links for training in specific areas... Summer is almost over and it’s depressing, because I want to do so much more than I can by myself 😞

Since I don't know everything about your situation, I can't tell you what will or won't work for you, but I can tell you our experience. We have a very large media/communications team (15-20 people), and there are only 3 people that actually work in the office, and only a couple days a week at that. The majority of our work is done through phone calls, group emails, Google docs/sheets, and DropBox. When it comes to work that is done mainly on the computer, such as media, there really isn't a lot that needs done in person. There are only a couple of us that don't work 9-5, if you can at least get a few people to volunteer you should be able to split the jobs up enough that it won't cause too much work for any one person. I personally work with a few different churches out of state on web design, and I have found that FlashBack Express is a good, super easy, screen recorder. The free version works perfectly for any training I need to do. And I completely agree with one of the commenters below, high school students are great resources. They are usually more active on social media than an older adult, they are usually very interested in techy type jobs (such as video, graphics, etc.), and they usually have more time on their hands than an adult or even a college student. Right now I actually have a meeting scheduled with a 16 yr old who I hope can join our media team. He is really into video recording and editing, and is even taking a class in school for it. He's excited to be able to get more practice. So I highly suggest that route too. Sorry about writing a book, lol, but I just wanted to give you hope that you CAN make it work with remote volunteers. Good luck!

Just wanted to give you guys a shout out. And two questions I need to ask. I'm helping to lead the media team at my church in Nagoya Japan. His call church. We have a pertty solid set up for streaming. 3 cameras and one computer feed for power point on the projector. We use a roland swtiching board and an old elgato capture box. The capture box we have is just about at the end of it's life span. 3-4 years old. And it isn't compatible with our new 4k hdmi splitter box. because it isn't receiving the HDCP signal produced from the roland switcher. through it. And we have recently been experiencing a lot of signal loss and flickering on the projector because of it. What capture box that has hdmi to usb connectivity would you recommend? Preferably one that doesn't care about HDCP signal. You guys are awesome! And lastly, What are your thoughts on cheap no name brand 4k cameras coming out of China for $200 these days? God bless. Leedy.

So how to you start a media team when you as the pastor of the Church is not so familiar with the tools but understands the necessity of having one. Do I hire? My local church seems not to have anyone with the will and skill when asked.
@prochurchtools6 жыл бұрын
Frankly, we're living through the biggest communication shift in 500 years, and I don't think pastors have the luxury to not know this stuff. That's why we exist and do a daily show - time to learn!
@Kriscalf5 жыл бұрын
Maybe for a start, you can look for volunteers withing the congregation to assist and to start small then grow the team using the lessons here.

So, what do you actually do now? you are talking about making people do basically everything you are paid to do. there was even a reference of don't ask them to do your laundry. A very strange video about trying to get people involved in ministry.
