More love into those frets than a guitar factory... Seriously that's a polished cigar box guitar... Can't wait to finish series

don't let your CA bottles lay on its side, the glue will seep between the tip and the cap and will clog the darn thing. plus the cap is then harder to removr, too. happy 2016!

You actually don't need to re-crown the frets, it works just as well with flat tops :) I didn't believe that myself until i saw it on my guitar teacher's guitar: A Gibson L6 Deluxe (from the 70's) with Flat frets. It plays really nice and intonates well.

+getting better all the time I completely agree with you, but i do believe that a flat top is just as good as a perfectly round crown. Trust me, I've tried it ;) I have actually done that to one of my guitars, i leveled the frets and then left them as they were. I dont feel any sharp edges and it even plays better than before. I love that guitar as much as my other guitars. I don't know why the intonation is still correct, i don't know why it plays better. But it does and so i'm suggesting it ;) Happy new year!

+Das TIER Surely rounded (crowned) frets will be much kinder to the strings and less prone to getting notches worn in the edge. I would also imagine they would be much smoother when bending strings.

I have a Epiphone SG G400. it is ebony in color but I would like to take the paint of off the face of it and do a worn or a transparent type of look . can you give me any advice? and I was planning on using a heat gun to take the paint off before sanding

why using a jumbofret for the zero fret, it is only making the strings higher, the strings and frets dont know they are at the last fret ( as far as they know there could be more after them ) and if there were more frets that fret was normal hight with the rest of them and would be dressed so it wouldnt rattle. I make most of my guitars with a zero fret and dont use thicker zero frets, trust me I am a shoemaker

What exactly is the purpose of a zero fret ?

I thought you had to bend the fret wire otherwise it would pop out over time?

I suspect that is true for guitars with radiused fretboards, but I believe this one is completely flat.
