Building a Cliff Shelter FROM START TO FINISH with Luxon Bushcraft

In this video, I will show you a beautiful place in the forests of the mountain where I decided to build my camp. It was a few beautiful days and a nostalgic experience that took me back to my childhood. Namely, I spent a lot of time there playing in the forest and building shelters. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to spend my childhood in such an environment.
The terrain is very difficult and inaccessible, so I built a wooden bridge with a fence and wooden steps to facilitate access and the works I have planned. Also you will see how I built a sturdy wooden structure from logs with a multipurpose wooden cliff top porch attached to it. Namely, it can serve as a lookout point with a beautiful view of the mountains and the forest, it also serves as a dining room and for afternoon and morning tea drinking...
I also built log walls, and a wooden door with a latch, closed my shelter, and made it safe for the long term. I placed the wooden bed on an elevated part and thus achieved that it does not take up the space in which I move. I protected myself from the weather. I made windows out of Plexiglas that I brought with me into the wilderness from civilization to close the openings on the upper part of the rock and at the same time get waterproofing, protection from rain and cold, and the light I need. I also made a wooden ladder that made it easier for me to access the terrace and the bed. I coated the boards on the terrace and the door with a polyurethane coating to protect them from weather conditions and thus extend the life of the wood. I continue to work on improving my shelter to make it more comfortable for me. You will see how I made a wooden floor from flat planks. Also I will show you how you can make a wooden table and a wooden bench yourself, as well as a very practical wooden candlestick that can be used as a chandelier. I decorated the wooden corner shelf I made with autumn fruits and candles to make it more pleasing to the eye. You will see how I made a small practical kitchen with a large clay fireplace in my cliff shelter and thus raised my ambiance to a higher level. I made the wooden structure from solid oak posts, and I made the preparation for the roof from flat boards. For the waterproofing of the roof, I used a waterproof, UV-stable PVC membrane that is used to make industrial roofs. As a fastening material for the roof, I used steel molding that I fixed with nails. I later used that molding to make a sturdy dome for the fireplace out of clay and mud. I made the walls out of dead chestnut logs and closed the slats with clay. I made the window that I mount in the video in my home workshop from recycled materials. The works were very demanding considering the configuration of the terrain and they lasted about 30 days. At nightin my shelter it was very cozy with the song of owls and wild foxes. I and my friend Lajka had a great time.

I spent the last week with a virus that has kicked my arse, no sleep, couldn't eat, bad temprature fluctuations, brain functions had dropped to almost 0. (tested negative for covid though) I couldn't focus on anything, but then I found these videos. No talking, just the sounds of nature and calm. So I had these playing in the background and they were easy to focus on. Kept me occupied and helped me pass some real sleepless nights! So I just wanted to thankyou for your content! ​@@prima164it's just a little dug out to spend time in and he new to build the bed up. In the rainy season you could just simply not use it or build or use tarps if you want to. Don't be such a party pooper or bob the builder all the time. It's still a great build under the sercome stances using what nature provides.

Thank you so much for sharing this amazing build. When you speak of your childhood memories, many of mine are the same... spending my summers out in the woods and the mountains where we lived. I built many different shelters and lived off the land. If I may, the only suggestion I have for this wonderfully tarzan-esc hide-a-way is to add some dirt and plantings to that pvc rooftop. Maybe some grasses, ferns and the such from the environment around you.. It would really tie your part-time homestead into the landscape and prevent it from being so easily spotted by anyone who might then want to vandalize your hard work.

what an amazing place you've built for yourself. I grew up on a farm and we had a large wooded area on our property. I spent countless hours in that woods building huts and dams across the creek and used that place to learn a lot about nature. I still use those images and memories to calm myself when I've had a rough day. maybe one day I'll get back to that place but in the mean-time, it's great to live vicariously through you. just wanna say thanks for all the great videos. in my opinion, this is your best!! 👍👍

I am loving this. I am female, but as a child, my home was surrounded by mountains and I practically lived in them. I had two friends who enjoyed it also and we would build little forts out of anything we could find and spend all summer tromping through the mountains to our little forts. Never thinking about animals or snakes and there were a lot of them. God was looking out for us. That is all I can say.

Вы осуществляете мою мечту ! ))) С каждым разом у вас получается всё лучше! 👍 Получился целый фильм, хотя можно было бы поделить на 2 серии. ) У вас столько птиц там! Зяблик, дрозд, канюк и тиньковка, а ночью было слышно филина, неясыть и даже шакала, если не ошибаюсь. Разрешите поделиться своими идеями) Крышу кухни можно было бы использовать для сбора дождевой воды, если есть необходимость в чистой воде или просто накрыть всю крышу мхом для более аутентичного вида) Печку можно продолжить внутрь , выложив топку из камня и глины для того ,чтобы печь отдавала больше тепла в холодное время года, а сверху положить плиту, тоже можно из подходящего большого, плоского камня. Останется только законопатить двери, все щели , заготовить дрова и можно жить даже зимой ! 👍👍👍

Оказывается вот как лисы могут, а я думал что, они только лаят! :) А знаете, свечи в Вашем жилище смотрятся прекрасно, но не менее интересно смотрелась бы керосиновая лампа! 🙂 Я люблю керосиновые лампы, у меня их несколько штук. Есть в них что то особенное ,своеобразное, ламповое :)
